Oh No

I know this is going to sound insensitive but I've been saying this lately that if you're distraught, if you're mad at the world, if you're suicidal, then off YOURSELF. Don't take 10, 15, 20(or more) people with you!!
Rest in Peace to my Penny-pie. You really were a GREAT dog. I'll see you at the Rainbow Bridge.

Terribly sad and inexcuseable. My prayers for the victims and their families. I agree with Phoebe, if someone is suicidal and determined to kill them themself, I hate when they take innocent people with them.

You got it Sarah - here in Toronto, we're getting the same thing. We've had about 3 unprovoked attacks on people shoved onto the subway tracks in the past couple of months, combined with I don't know how many stabbings - that never happens here. And you're going to see domestic abuse take a hike too I'm afraid. It's almost like a script out of a bad B movie or something. I've just noticed it though. People who normally might be able to emotionally recover from something are just going right over the brink.

Somewhere briefly I saw that we might be close to bottoming out now so hopefully this can change around a bit.

Also, I don't want to start a whole deal about gun control, but let's face it, if more are around to easily grab, that's going to be the weapon of choice. Here, because guns are banned, we get more and more stabbings and machetes. Aw it's a lovely world these days eh?

(although let's face, day to day, there's individuals like us who ARE trying to pull together and encourage each other so thankfully these fruitloops are still in the minority).
If I don't see you in this world, I'll meet you in the next one.....don't be late

What's most shocking about this sort of tragedy is that it is no longer shocking when we hear about them taking place, as it's almost become a daily occurence. I firmly believe these sort of violent events will continue to increase in a dramatic fashion as the anger, fear, desperation and loss of hope that is coinciding with the terrifying crumbling of our global economy, a climate gone out of control, the unraveling of the moral fiber than once held society together and a startling disconnection from reality that has us all in a vise-like grip.
