With the first week of June just a week off from the end of this schedule release, any idea if a renewal decision has been made on Leave it to Beaver?

So much for TV Land PRIME - they might as well call it the Andy Griffith block from now on.

No news on Beaver yet. Andy is 7-10pm. Only one hour of that is in PRIME.

Question about the TV LAND awards... will there be any on-line categories this year? i love voting for on-line stuff every year. If so when will those categories be opened for voting?

I doubt they'll renew Beaver.....remember we can still watch it on RTN who treats their shows much better when things are running properly.

Any updates on Beaver? I guess it's reached the end of its rope on TV Land. Or is it low on plays or something? I know it always did very well and aired in good slots until recently. It's been a staple for so long; even more than Lucy was.

I find it hard to believe Green Acres would get enough ratings to air afternoons instead of LITB. That was never the case....it was usually Beaver afternoons, Acres weekends. Any insight, Pav? Have Beaver fans finally gotten tired of it after 11 years?

Interesting to see all of these 60s/70s shows getting the good slots when we all thought that's what they were moving away from several years ago. Never fails....they get the recent shows and always wind up going back to the old reliable; Andy, Gunsmoke, Hillbillies, etc. If I were them, I would acquire some of the shows that they aired 7-8 years ago and have rested for a while. Review the ratings; get what did well back then again. Like they did Hillbillies and Hogan's, both seem to be doing well. Please....no more Hunter, Vice/S&S/A-Team/Knight Rider, 227, Murphy Brown, Just Shoot Me, Wings, Night Court, Scrubs, etc type adds....shows like that JUST DON'T WORK WELL on there for some reason. Cheers and Cosby are 80s shows that fit pretty well and did decently.

I think Green Acres is played where it is because it fits with the other shows that are played around it. If you look at it TV Land has moved to having 3 main themed sitcom blocks- Norman Lear Shows (All in the Family, Sanford and Son, The Jeffersons, Good Times), Rural Shows (Green Acres, Beverly Hillbillies, Hogan's Heroes, The Andy Griffith Show), and Prime (3rd Rock, Cosby Show)

TV Land has 3 sitcoms that don't fit into those 2 categories (Leave it to Beaver, The Brady Bunch, and Three's Company) and thus air weekends only.

M*A*S*H would probably air in afternoons/early evening, but they only can air it between 8pm - 8am--so that's why it is in overnights primarily.

It makes me wonder if the 2 classics coming later this year will either be Norman Lear or rural shows? Also makes me wonder if Green Acres and The Jeffersons have a better chance of renewal that LITB?

For the record, I'm happy Green Acres does air like it does as I like it much better than the Hillbillies. But outside of TAGS, I'm not real big on all the rural programming. I certainly prefer the Norman Lear/weekend sitcoms.

Remember Green Acres and The Jeffersons both expire this year so they could release both of them so there wouldn't be so much Lear/rural.

I'm hoping for Get Smart, That Girl, Alice, or at least something similar. 1 60s and 1 70s would be nice replacements and let the other 2 go maybe.

TV Land has changed their May schedule a bit starting May 4. See first post for the full schedule. Among the changes are more westerns on weekdays now extended from 2pm-6pm Tues-Fri. This means the Monday block is now from 12pm-6pm. Evening sitcoms now start 6pm with Hogan's Heroes and Green Acres. Hillbillies remains in the 7pm hour. TV Land Goes West is added also on Saturdays from 1pm-7pm, just like Sundays. This means the TV Land movie encores are now Saturdays at 6am. Brady Bunch on Saturdays is now 9am-11am, with Beaver from 11am-1pm leading into the westerns. Beaver also airs 7-8pm, followed by blocks of Andy from 8pm-11pm, M*A*S*H 11pm-1am, and Three's Company from 1am-3am. Sundays has Hillbillies from 10am-1pm leading into the westerns. Andy follows from 7-10pm, then M*A*S*H from 10pm-1am, Hillbillies from 1am-3am, and an hour of Brady Bunch in the 3am hour.
Again see the first post for the full schedule. It is now more of a regular schedule, especially on weekends, so less one time adjustments now.

This is now CANCELED and replaced with regular schedule (TV Land Goes West):
-The Cougar Memorial Day Marathon
Monday, May 25, 2009
12pm-6pm ET/PT
It's been six weeks since single sophisticated cougar Stacey embarked on her prowl to find her perfect cub. Prior to the season finale and Stacey's final pick on Wednesday, June 3, come relive all of the romance, laughs, tears and heartbreaks with a marathon of the first six episodes. Tune in to see additional footage and dramatic deleted scenes as well as get an inside scoop on what everyone from Stacey to Vivica to the guys were really thinking.

In place of that monstrosity "The Cougar." Given the choice between the Cartwrights/Matt Dillon and "single sophisticated cougar Stacey," I'd have to toss Stacey's single sophisticated ass out.

It's really not that horrid. They do seem to be moving back to where they were 4-5 years ago. The movies aren't on as much anymore, Cougar seems to have done not as good as they hoped...the westerns keep getting more timeslots, which IMO, is a major win for all types of classic TV because you just don't get any more old-fashioned than westerns. The westerns are the complete and total opposite of their originals.

I'm just interested to see how they go through 2009. They get ragged on a lot (DESERVEDLY), but sometimes it doesn't seem so bad. The majority of their schedule is the usual type of stuff you'd expect on TVLand, so who knows...they might start inching back to what they used to be.

True. The only "wow" spot is 3rd Rock From The Sun....and they have sacked all of the 80s/90s sitcoms that failed. However, if these westerns do so well, why not acquire more so we don't have so much of the same 2 we've seen for years?

Any info on whether or not Beaver will be renewed yet? I'm doubting..

I'm guessing we will know that as soon as the TV Land June highlights are released. It's so close!

I'm optimistic about Beaver. They might at least keep it to fill those slots on Saturday. I don't think they can play the westerns, Andy Griffith, or Beverly Hillbillies that much more. They don't seem to use the Lear shows too much for weekends. More Brady Bunch? Maybe, but I think Beaver probably does a little better. Cougar/movies/3rd Rock not working on the weekends could be a good sign for Beaver....

I like it when they have a consistent weekend schedule! Hopefully they'll keep it!
