Cool Ralph Waite (John) to appear on Days of Our Lives

According to Soap Opera Digest, the former Waltons dad will begin appearing as a priest on several episodes of Days of Our Lives, beginning Feb. 18.

You couldn't get John Walton into a church if you tried and now the actor who played him is going to play a priest? Wild!

I've read several articles that said Ralph Waite was a Congregational minister in real life before becoming an actor (he graduated from Yale Divinity School). How's that for ironic?
