Default Bewitched - The Complete Seventh Season DVD Review

After a 9-month wait, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment twitches us the Seventh Season on DVD! The Emmy-nominated seventh season stars Elizabeth Montgomery, Dick Sargent, David White, and Agnes Moorehead. This season, Samantha (Montgomery) is summoned to appear at the Witches Convention in Salem and we are in for a Salem experience for the first seven episodes or so! Among the plots this season are, Darrin (Sargent) is taken to jail in Salem when the authorities think he stole a bedpan; and Samanthaís Aunt Esmerelda (Alice Ghostley) takes an original Paul Revere teapot in Salem. Endora (Moorehead) changes Darrin into an old man; Tabitha (Erin Murphy) meets a real live fairy when she loses her first tooth; and Samanthaís wacky cousin Serena is up to no good - again. We also see once again Paul Lynde as Uncle Arthur, Sandra Gould as Gladys Kravitz, Bernard Fox as Dr. Bombay and Kasey Rogers as Louise Tate. So join Elizabeth Montgomery in ... Bewitched! (Now the theme music is stuck in your head, isnít it?)

Great review, Pav!!

And I'm tickled that we have the Screen Gems logos on the episodes and to see at least for once, a sponsor opening restored! (THAT JUST PROVES HOW LAZY SONY WAS IN THE OTHER RELEASES!!)

Can't wait to get my set!

Bewitched peaked in it's 4th season. It started going downhill in Dick York's last season, and continued downward thru the seasons with Dick Sargeant. But it appears Sony has done a splendid job with the season 6 and 7 DVD's, uncut episodes which make these discs a tempting buy despite the general shortcomings of the show itself. Perhaps I will order these, uncut episodes are difficult to resist.

I think I am one of the few people who appreciates the last few seasons of the show. Sure Dick York was gone and missed, but the writers still came up with some good episodes that really brought out Dick Sargent's talent in my opinion
