Yes, I saw this coming.
Herm Edwards is out as the Chiefs coach. KANSAS CITY -- Kansas City Chiefs coach Herm Edwards was fired Friday, a well-placed source told ESPN. Edwards was 15-33 in three seasons with the Chiefs, including 2-14 this season. The Chiefs have been in negotiations to land Mike Shanahan as their next coach and a deal is near, league sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Edwards' status has been in doubt since the Chiefs hired Scott Pioli as their general manager on Jan. 13. Asked at his introductory news conference about Edwards' status, Pioli declined to say. He was 41-44 in five seasons as head coach of the New York Jets, including three trips to the playoffs. Edwards came to Kansas City from the Jets and made the playoffs in his first season,w hen the team was 9-7. But he was under fire after the team finished 4-12 in 2007. Team management gave him its support, but expected a run at the playoffs. Instead, the team went 2-14, leaving Edwards' fate up in the air. Friday, Pioli fired him. Edwards

Hard to believe that he managed to beat the Chargers twice.

Uh... No, we beat them twice but we made it a game by coming back. In 2007, KC beat us in San Diego and we beat KC in KC. In 2006, Edwards' first year, they beat us in KC and we beat KC at home. That would also be Marty's last year with the Chargers. |

I will never understand the hype when he was the Jets coach and then they trade him to the Chiefs and did a horrible job "You play to win the game"

Well, what's the different from when the Chargers got Schottenheimer after he left Washington? He was with the Chiefs before that. |
