Question Do you remember your old phone numbers?

I remember my phone number from when I was a teen, which was a few years ago, lol. My husband and I live in a home for the first 11 years of our marriage, and I remember that number. I've forgotten all the other numbers. I have to think twice to remember my current number now.

Good question janice.

The # of the house I grew up in where my Mom and Dad lived up until two years ago will probably be forever burned in my brain. As far as I know they had that number for over 30 years!
We also had a second line in the house for the "kids" room, I still remember that one.

I could not tell you my parent's new number off the top of my head. I just punch up "mom and dad" on the cell phone now.

That pretty much goes for any phone number now.

I still remember my childhood one better than any other for some odd reason:

(416) 242-4705 Give 'em a call and tell them TripperFan says Howdy!

I'm sure they'll really appreciate it!

Family Ties Forever, I used to be like this when I was growing up! I'd memorize not only the phone numbers of all my school friends, but also their street addresses (I'd wonder where the house is, mentally locate it on a map, and that would, for whatever reason, burn it into my memory! Oddly enough, I found a job with the U. S. Postal Service!) and birthdays (I used to read the "Garfield" comic strip religiously, and I'd think of a past strip that came out on their birthday, and that would burn it into my memory!).

Oh, and as to how I memorized phone numbers, since I was into math I liked to factor the number, and that had an effect on it being burned into my memory.

I still remember the phone number we had when I was living at home (I just moved out 9 years ago).

In the early 80's I worked for a retail card shop chain. At the time, there were 23 stores in the chain. I had all the addresses, phone numbers and manager's names memorized. Stayed with me for years too - up until about 2000.

Nope! Not counting my cell phone, I've only used our family home number, which we've had for over 27 years. I don't remember our last one, seeing as I was still pretty little.

I don't remember it, but I have a phone book from 1967 and looked it up!

My mother just canceled my grandmother's old house phone number in the midst of trying to get the house sold. I'll always remember it because you cannot forget numbers like that. I'm having trouble remembering the number of the phone number we had living in the trailer park when I was a kid, though. I'm sure I'll accidentally dial it one day trying to call another number.
