If you know most of the episodes like the back of your hand like I do, you'll notice many of the episodes have been trimmed down (ie. See Alan Mann ghost episode for a huge example), and/or some of the famous Stack commentary/funny quotes or lines have been removed, also -- some of the mystical music that complimented certain episodes is now gone.
This bother anybody else? |

I just get tired of people complaining . UM didn't ask them for their opinion, Robert Stack isn't coming back from the dead to host the series as a ghost, and things change.
I also find it funny that people demand new cases. How? You hate Farina, and no one elsewill be good enough for you? Technologically splice words from Stack to make sentences? |

Yes they have edited some stuff out. But some of the edits are innocuous to the overall story. I mean if two relatives are simply repeating the same info that mary jane or john doe was a good man or woman, those edits don't bother me. But I can understand if some purists don't like edits. I understand that some edits kind of rush the story. Paradoxically, they also have added footage that was previously edited by lifetime from the NBC and CBS versions. For example, the Psychic dreams and Lost Dutchman Mine stories, just to name a few. The opening part of the college professor who who had a dream about breaking on his car to avoid a car accident was left off the boxed set and some of the expert commentary about psychic dreams was also left off. The part about Walt Gassler, his death, and his imposter son was put back on Spike TV, after it was conspicously edited by lifetime and left off on the "best of" set that featured the Lost Dutchman Mine Treasure. Of course, everytime I think about Lost Dutchman; my ears start ringing with the bombastic opening notes to the Flying Dutchman Overture. Hopefully, it wont be like the mystery hum. ![]() |

It's a total shock. I really thought they were going to show the full length unedited NBC versions and even drop some commercials so they could show the entire story.

They sent out a press release many months ago. During this time they did not say that they were going to keep the same length segment, cut commercials, and use Robert Stack. Quote:

I think what the OP is saying is, they should leave the old ones alone and make new episodes! Show the old ones in their entirety if they must.
