Things That Are Defunct - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Name some things that are defunct and you have vivid memories of.

1. WWOR EMI Service (cable station)
2. www.yesterdayland.com
3. Ames
4. Jamesway
5. NYNEX (a phone company)
6. AZN ( it was an asian cable channel- went defunct circa spring 2008)

OMG I remember Ames

Just barely, but my Grandma would take me there when I was really little.

We also had a grocery store around here called Great American. I don't know if it was a local chain or not, I just know that it's not around anymore, or at least I don't hear of it anymore. My family used to go there all the time.

Daytons.

I miss that store hardcore. The one that used to be here had a name change - but didn't change anything in the store - to Marshall Fields in about 1999 or 2000, then Marshall Fields closed in June of 2005 and was torn down to build a new Target. The mall the MF was at already had a Target, but it was the old-school Target, and they wanted to relocate & remodel. THAT new Target opened in October of 2006, where Marshall Fields used to stand.

Also, I miss Best. It was basically a catalog showroom store - kind of like Best Buy, in a sense, only not really. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Best_Products The one here closed aggggggggggggggges ago.

They were my favorite toy as a kid. I found one of the newer versions at Goodwill still sealed for $1.99 and was tempted to open it and play it but I sold it on eBay instead.

We had Best here in Ohio - that was my cousin's first job.

The building is still around - it now exists as a Value City.
