My vote will go to Yes, Dear on CBS. Mike O'Malley means almost instant death for a sitcom.. who could forget last year Mike O'Malley Show on NBC? If you blinked, you missed it...

I agree. Why would CBS take such a chance? From what I've seen it doesn't look very funny.

That's what I thought but the ratings were pretty decent, surprisingly! I'd have to go with Tucker. Although it's going to be close this year with a lot of pretty bad shows.:-) ABC's Friday lineup doesn't look all that healthy, either. It'll either be Tucker or a Friday comedy from ABC. That's my guess.

Either Tucker or Madigan Men. I hope from the bottom of my heart they cancel Norm. It's only been on, what, a season or two? It seems like an eternity. The only thing I watch that has Norm McDonald is it is reruns of SNL... and that's because he was there the season that Michael McKean was.

Actually, after viewing the debut of John Goodman's "Normal, Ohio", something I'd been looking forward to, I was very disappointed. It didn't seem to make any sense, and it was sort of depressing in some ways.
However, I gave it another chance, and watched episode 2 the next week. Wow! I'd misjudged it terribly. There were many times I'd actually laughed out loud. I think Orson Bean's character is a crankier version of Marty Crane from "Frasier." John Goodman really hasn't lost a step when it comes to sitcoms. I think if they keep it up, and FOX keeps "Malcolm" as the lead-in show, it'll do just fine. |
