A possible sign that the rest of the series won't be released on DVD...(??) - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

A reviewer on Amazon brought up a point that has me concerned. This reviewer wondered if Paramount's release of a multi-season pack of FT means that they won't be releasing the rest of the series, as this studio has supposedly developed a pattern of doing when it comes to other TV shows that they have put on DVD (i.e., "Taxi").

I sincerely hope this theory is disproved with FT, of course. I've always thought that a studio's decision whether or not to release seasons of a given show was based at least partially on how well (or poorly) the DVD releases of the previous seasons have sold and I thought the sales of FT were pretty strong.

We shall see.

BTW, if you ever consider buying any of the TV-on-DVD multi-season packs, you might want to do some calculating and comparing. They all want you to think you are getting a better deal in these packs than buying each season individually, when, in many cases, just the opposite is true.

I really hope that seasons 5-7 will be released. The show deserves to have all seven seasons on dvd.

I remember a few years ago amazon was selling Cheers and Frasier multi-season packs. Cheers is almost complete on DVD now and all the seasons of Frasier have been released so I don't think theres anything to worry about. I'm sure Seasons 5-7 will come out soon.
