Default Dave's World - The First Season DVD Review

Recognizable sitcom star Harry Anderson (Night Court) returned to series television in 1993 in the CBS sitcom Dave’s World, based on Pulitzer Prize-winning syndicated columnist Dave Barry who wrote Dave Barry’s Greatest Hits and Dave Barry Turns 40. Harry Anderson plays Dave, a newspaper columnist for the Miami Record-Dispatch dealing with the absurdities of adult life as a husband, father, and semi-responsible citizen, in suburban Miami. This sitcom lasted four seasons on CBS from 1993-97.

The sitcom also had Dave’s wife Beth (DeLane Matthews), and their sons Tommy (Zane Carney) and Willie (Andrew Ducote). We also have Dave's editor and best friend, Kenny Beckett, played by Shadoe Stevens and Meshach Taylor plays Dave's other friend, Sheldon Baylor.

Default Dave's World - The First Season DVD Review

Last evening I saw a commercial for the Dave's World DVD -- I enjoyed this show so it's nice to see this release being promoted!

I remember really loving it so I put all three of the discs on my Blockbuster queue...got the first one last night and watched the Pilot.

It's only so-so. I adore Harry Anderson but not his costarts and certainly not those kids on the show !!!!! Hope it picks up.

I rented this from Netflix and the editing of the DVDs are very choppy because of the content removal. Other than that the set is fine, but some special features would have been nice.
