Default Memorable TV weddings...or not

Are there some tv weddings that stick out in your mind after so long merely because it was a great wedding between two characters you liked or was it because it was between two characters you could not stand or felt it was a bad choice? Tell us abt them:

MEMORABLE WEDDINGS:

Whitley & Dwayne - A DIFFERENT WORLD: One of the most memorable to me because it ended the season on a high note, it was great seeing these two get together after fighting their true feelings for so long and seeing how Dwayne begged Whitley to marry him while she was in the middle of her marriage vows with ANOTHER MAN.

Lucy Ewing & Mitch Cooper - DALLAS: They were young and in love, but with these two married, it would soon bring on chaos and more drama in the Ewing household. These two would end up divorcing but they would marry again making that particular season finale crazy since it was also the season that Bobby Ewing was killed off...or was he? These two belonged together, but sadly, they divorced AGAIN!

Mary Ellen Walton & Dr. Curtis Willard - THE WALTONS: I loved how Mary Ellen was set to marry her beloved until Curt came along and seemed to make Mary Ellen re-think her decision, although Mary Ellen wouldn't admit it, she liked the doctor and his aggressive manners. She broke off her engagement and fiercely told Curt she would not marry him if he were the last man on earth. Wonder how he got her to change her mind, since the next scene we see is their wedding.

Luke & Laura - GENERAL HOSPITAL: I was not a fan of the show, but I did tune in to see what would happen. Boy! that wedding was memorable alright.

Nina Cortland & Cliff Warner - ALL MY CHILDREN: Two great characters who had one of thee most beautiful weddings. So many things got in the way of their marrying each other, but it couldn't be stopped. She was the rich girl. He was the struggling, young doctor. Just like Lucy and Mitch on DALLAS.

Jenny Gardener & Greg Nelson - ALL MY CHILDREN: Another great couple from AMC. These two went through so much. Greg interrupted Jenny's wedding vows and chaos ensued. What a great moment! I LOVED IT. Sadly, Jenny was later killed by her former fiancee who wanted revenge on Greg, but caused Jenny's death instead.

I always loved this episode of the (1980s) Newhart show. The character of Kirk was getting married to Cindy, a professional circus clown (!). He faints several times during the ceremony, right after the "dearly beloved". Finally, the gang straps Kirk onto a gurney and holds it upright so he won't faint again. I was rolling!! That'll probably happen to me if I ever get married. Trivia - this ep was directed by Will Mackenzie, who played Larry Bondurant on the 1970s Bob Newhart Show.

All THREE of Hayden and Christine Fox's weddings on Coach were hysterical, too. The most memorable one was when she fell off the chandelier right into the cake!!!

Memorable Weddings: My Picks

1. The 1st episode and Wedding of Mike Brady and Carol Martin- It started the whole Brady Bunch adventures, Mike getting the whole wedding cake in the face. Then later repeated on The Brady Girls Get Married.

2. The Wedding of Joanie and Chachi-It was the end of Happy Days and ended on a hight note, it was very touching.

3. When Cord was going to get remarried on One Life To Live. Tina comes bursting through the doors proving she was still alive, bringing their baby with her and she collapses.

4. The Wedding of Tom Bradford to Abbey. I always liked Eight Is Enough and she fit in with the Bradford clan perfectly.

Oh I have to so agree with you on both of those. I cried at the Joanie and Chachi wedding because the music and the finale of the show made it so touching. Good choice.

I also love EIE and so seeing this great idea of a step-mother for the Bradford kids, not to mention a loving wife for Tom, made for a lovely wedding and union.

a not so good tv wedding:

Darva Conger and that stupid millionaire guy on WHO WANTS TO MARRY A MILLIONAIRE?

I liked Rhoda's wedding. I haven't seen it in years but I still remember her out in the street in her wedding dress.

I agree about Rhoda's wedding. That was memorable. I can't believe Phyllis had the nerve to even show up! LOL What about Joe and Helen's wedding on Wings? Joe had his hand stuck in a toilet to keep the ring from going down, and Brian and Casey couldn't keep their hands off each other. LOL

Thumbs down

I loved Greg and Jenny's wedding on AMC. I still think of that every time I hear that song "Just You and I" by Eddie Rabbit and Crystal Gayle.

One wedding I was disappointed with was Jessie and Rebecca on Full House. I just thought it could have been better. That episode was kind of corny to me; with Jessie getting caught in that tree after trying to skydive...

*altho, i've just seen clips, Rex and Adriana's wedding on OLTL looked awesome. GiGi walked in in the middle of the wedding and Adriana punched her. (you'd have to know there history to understand why she punched her)
*Vint and Naomi's wedding on "Mama's Family." funniest wedding i've EVER seen.
