have you noticed that the real ghostbusters animated show looked completely different to the films, in terms of character design? likewise, in the movie, ray has brown hair but in the cartoon it was ginger

Yes. I have always speculated that the producers never acquired permission
to use the actors' likenesses. As I recall, in the pilot episode, the "real"
Ghostbusters were attending the movie's premiere and were not happy with the casting (I remember them dropping the names Murray and Aykroyd).

also the term 'real' had to be included, after a wrangle with filmations and their version of ghostbusters. the show was created by harold ramis and dan ackroyd, of whom were the original creators of the 1984 movie, so to speak.

what is really interesting though is that lorenzo music did the voice of peter venkman, bill murray's character, in the cartoon version; and yet lorenzo also did the voice of garfield in garfield and friends. astonishingly, bill murray voiced garfield in the recent live action movie a few years ago!

Yes, I noticed the irony of that casting, too. I guess someone thought that
the voices of Bill Murray and Lorenzo Music sounded similar (which they did).
