Default Family Ties Reunion

Alex P. Keaton is a Republican Senator for Ohio and working in Washington, DC. He married the love of his life, Ellen Reed, and they have two kids.
Mallory ended up married to Nick, much to Alex's dismay. They have kids too. To the surprise of everyone, they have no problems in their marriage.
Jennifer is a moderately famous rock star and single. She recently broke off an engagement.
Andy is a slacker still living with his parents.

That does sound like an interesting premise. I probably won't write too many novella-length fics for Family Ties, except for the ones that happen to be crossovers with Back to the Future. I probably will be writing more one-shot ficlets in the future, though.

Love how Andy turns out to be a slacker! Without his older brother around to influence him, be probably loosens up a little more. Don't get me wrong. I think Alex is very affectionate and nurturing with Andy - but he does also tend to try a little too hard to turn Andy into a mini-Alex, much like he tried to do with Ming in Season One.

BTW, in your ficverse, how old would Andy be - in relation to the older siblings? In my ficverse, he was born early in 1985 - as it happened in the series. So, by the time Alex leaves for New York in 1989, Andy would only be four years old.

Andy would be born in 1985, and four years old in 1989.

As much as I love this sitcom, one issue I have with the show is the weak continuity. The SORAS of Andy is the most obvious one - but there were other inconsistencies, as well. Like, for instance, with Alex's age.

If we go by seasons one to four, which I do, he would be 23 years old. If we go by seasons five to seven, he would be 26 years old.

Only part of the fan fiction I didn't like is the Nick part. If it had said she was married to Skippy I would have liked that. Just my opinion.
