Laura Branigan The Movie.
If you remember Laura had many hits during the 80's,her nnumber one was Gloria from Flashdance. Self Controll was also a big hit for her, In 2004 LauraBranigan passed away in her sleep with a brain anersim. So I think she would be prode to do a life movie about her. I have four actresses /singers to play her. Debra Messing from Will and Grace fame. Madonna Jennerfer Lopez she is not the same race but,she could sing. Olivia Newton-John

I LOVED Laura Branigan - but I have to disagree with those choices; I don't think any of them would work. How about Selma Blair?

Actually, "Gloria" was not really from Flashdance. It was a hit from Laura in 1982 while they were filming the movie, so Phil Ramone and Jerry Bruckheimer decided to use it in the movie. However, Laura did perform a song called "Imagination" for the movie. |

I love Laura's music, but I don't know if she is well known enough for a Walk The Line/Ray style biopic. If one was made, the choices you listed are all way too old (Olivia is older than Laura and Madonna was roughly the same age) so they would probably go with someone 25-35.

I was thinking the same thing, John. I'm not sure Laura is well known enough to be the subject of a movie. I think she was a good singer though. My friend Jodi is a huge fan of Laura's. I've been considering for quite awhile now checking out to see if Laura has a greatest hits CD. |

yep, she has "Best Of Branigan" from 1995, it's missing a number of the smaller hits like I Found Someone (she charted with it before Cher did), Shattered Glass and Moonlight On Water though, but it does include all her top 40 hits

Laura was also the first to record How Am I Supposed to Live Without You (and I think her version is light years better than Michael Bolton's), and was the first to popularize Power of Love (then Air Supply charted with their version, and then Celine Dion had the monster hit).

Not that it would be hard for her version to be better than Michael Bolton's. ![]() |

lol. Although Laura's version came out 6-7 years before Bolton's, he actually wrote the song. Same with I Found Someone, which was a hit for Laura and then Cher, tho he didn't record it on his own until well into the 1990's
