Democracy? In the Democrat party? Not these days. More like strong arm socialism or communism.

Do Republicans stand for continuation of Bush policy? Yup.

Hope thats your party and McDole's winning message for November.

Yes, he would be the oldest. But I would rather vote for the oldest one than the one who was the most liberal Senator (going by his voting record) in 2007. (That would be Obama.)

Most liberal is always BS. The national review hey released this after it was apparent he would be the nominee and Hillary and Obama differ on like, 4 votes, yet she's number 16.
Most people don't care about the word "liberal." Not this year anyway, it may have worked in 04.

FWIW McCain and Obama agree on a lot, such as global warming, the bush tax cuts and illegal immigration. He also voted against the gay marriage amendment, and I doubt he would overturn roe v wade.

Is he for stem cell research?

Not when you go by the actual voting record. Going by that, Obama was the most liberal Senator in 2007.

A LOT of people care about the word "liberal" because they don't want their taxes raised. Some, however, (for some reason) vote for the candidate whom they know will raise their taxes.

That just shows that McCain is not a true conservative. (But would still be better than Obama or Hillary.)

Don't know. I am for it, but not embryonic stem cell research.

Why McCain is following the global warning nutcases I have no clue. He is for keeping the Bush Tax cuts in place where as both Hillary and Obama both want to let it slide in a sence raising taxes. McCain finally realized that the people did not want the amnesty bill so he has decided to go a different route on that policy. Secure the border FIRST then deal with those who are here. McCain is definately not my first choice for a candidate but since the left wing media made him their darling and basically got him the nomination it's who we are stuck with. And he is apparently listening to his voting base and rethinking his stance on issues that are important to us.

McCain is only saying that to get the conservatives. He's not going to be hard on illegal immigrants, in the unlikely event he were elected. He's not going to ban gay marriage. He's probably not going to keep the Bush tax cuts. He IS for embryonic stem cell research. McCain is only conservative on the war. I don't understand why he's going to run as a conservative when the country has moved left.

You have no clue how he is going to run his administration WHEN he gets elected. You can speculate all you want. To me it sounds like he is hearing what the people want and understanding that he works for the people and that's the way we want things.

The country hasn't moved to the left. The media and big cities have moved to the left. Middle America is still middle of the road or more conservative. The reason you would thing the country is going to the left is the way it's reported.
