NEW YORK, May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Nick at Nite and TV
Land today presented new programming that will join each network's respective line-ups beginning later this month and continuing through Fall, 2001. The announcements -- made at New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel before a crowd of 1100 advertisers and media executives -- were presented by Cyma Zarghami, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Nickelodeon/Nick at Nite, and Jim Burns, Senior Vice President of Nick at Nite Programming and Creative as well as Larry W. Jones, Executive Vice President and General Manager of TV Land, and Diane Robina, Associate General Manager and Senior Vice President of Programming of TV Land. Shows joining the lineup include: "Gilligan's Island" (June, 2000); "The Facts of Life" (September, 2000); "Three's Company" (October, 2000); and "Family Ties" (September, 2001). The Nick at Nite executives were joined on stage by "Family Ties'" cast members Tina Yothers, Meredith Baxter and Michael Gross while Michael J. Fox shared his thoughts by way of videotape, which was pre-recorded yesterday in New York. Actresses Charlotte Rae and Lisa Welchel from "The Facts of Life" also joined in the celebration as did Sherwood Schwartz, creator of two hit Nick at Nite shows, "The Brady Bunch" and "Gilligan's Island." For TV Land, Jones and Robina were joined by actress Cheryl Ladd from "Charlie's Angels," and Mr. T from "The A-Team." The TV Land executives also shared the spotlight with John Moschitta Jr. from the Fedex Fast Talker Retromercial(TM), who quickly rattled off all 164 program titles, from "The A-Team" to "The Yellow Rose," in TV Land's deep library. In summary, Nick at Nite will add the following shows: -- "Gilligan's Island" beginning with "Gilligan's Island: The Survivors' Guide" -- a three-hour tour from Sunday, June 4 through Friday, June 9 from 9:00pm to midnight ET/PT. -- "The Facts of Life" beginning with a week-long reunion from September 4-7 from 8:30pm to 12:30am ET/PT. -- "Three's Company" kicking off with a marathon, hosted by John Ritter, from October 16-20. -- "Family Ties" joins Nick at Nite in September, 2001 with "The World According to Alex P. Keaton Marathon." TV Land announced the acquisition of the following shows: -- "My Favorite Martian" beginning Monday, May 29 at 8:00 and 8:30am ET. -- "The Bob Newhart Show" beginning Monday, May 29 at 11:30pm ET/ 8:30pm PT. -- "The Dick Van Dyke Show" debuting in September, 2000. -- "Charlie's Angels" kicking off with a five-night showcase from October 2-6, 2000. -- "Barney Miller" returns to primetime beginning January, 2001. -- "Miami Vice" makes a splash beginning January, 2001. -- "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" turns the world on with her smile in January, 2001. -- "Chico and the Man" makes its way into TV Land in January, 2001. -- "Get Smart" breaks into TV Land in January, 2001. Isn't "Cheers" supposed to premiere on Nick at Night next January?
