The only thing I watch on ION is Mama's Family and I've been bad about that for a few weeks, I forgot how the picture is. But right on about paying the cable bill each month. Altho my parents pay mine.
I think the reason why the girls cry is because girls are more emotional than guys. Maybe they became friends with that person or whatever and/or are scared they maybe next. Girls aren't the only ones. Poor David Archuleta cried. Danny Noregia did as well. I'm am 'AI' fan and don't care how long they run the episodes.
I agree they could have aired Back To You on the same night. Altho I don't watch the show, it's not fair to the fans. Brain Damage, what do you think. lol.

How did you miss BACK TO YOU on Tuesday when Brian made threads talking abt the show coming back? There was no way to miss those threads. I can see if it was on the blog or in the general sitcoms section, but these threads were OUT THERE easily visible.

I don't watch AI anymore. The crying I guess is because these people get to know each other while they are in Hollywood. They have formed friendships and it hurts to see someone go. This is not some realilty show like I LOVE NEW YORK or FLAVOR FLAV where the "contestants" are out to get each other, fight with each other, will do anything to see someone leave, etc. These are people who really root for each other and wish each other the best. Girls cry Solomon, get used to it because one day you will have a woman in your life and SHE WILL CRY!

ION has had blurry vision from the moment ALICE began airing. Or, it was always like that and we just didn't notice until we began watching ALICE. I remember the day THE DREW CAREY SHOW began and the two episodes were HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! I got a headache from the horrible blur.

ION must have bad video equipment. There's no reason why a 1995 episode of The Drew Carey Show should look the same as a 1981 episode of Alice.

Bingo! Thank you. That is what I was thinking. It has to be the equipment. At first it was said here on the board that ALICE is from the 70's and so the quality of the tapes must not be good, etc. But, here we have DREW CAREY being shown just like ALICE at times.

and Alice didn't look bad when TNN used to rerun it in the 90's. Just about all the time I go past ION their's a fuzzy picture on it. I hope Boston Legal enjoys their new syndicated home. They would have been better off going to TNT or FX.

By having American Idol as a lead-in Back to You got the best lead-in possible. (twice) It hopefully picked up some Idol fans who had not watched B2Y before. the more Idol exposure the better.

You are right. As a matter of fact, I have season one on DVD from a poster here who recorded them off of TNN and the quality is great. Even so, I remember the show looking remarkably as good on TNN as it did on CBS.

I missed the Wenesday episode, I saw the Tuesday episode and I think because I'm so programmed to watch BTY once a week I forgot to watch it again on Wednesday Night.

Drew was filmed, right? That might explain, Alice was taped. Taped shows age differently than filmed shows. Compare old Three's Company episodes to really early Seinfeld and Friends episodes that are more than a decade newer. Seinfeld and Friends are dark and grainy in syndication, yet TC still looks fresh with only the hairstyles and clothes to date it.

ION Television. I watch it only because it's the only place I can see Alice and Mama's Family, otherwise I wouldn't put up with that crap. Of course ION has crappy playback equipment. The entire network is made up of stations that were on the verge of bankruptcy when Bud Paxson bought them 10-15 years ago. What bugs me more than the crappy picture is the crappy audio. It sounds like it's coming in over two tin cans with a string. Their processing is really screwed up. I think ION needs to shell out some big bucks and hire an engineer who knows what they are doing and clean up their audio and video problems.

The local Oldies Radio station here in Hartford sounded like crap for years. They finally hired an engineer who knew what he was doing and they've begun to clean up their audio. So it's not that hard to fix technical problems with Radio/TV Stations. (In never happened, but someone had told me that this Oldies station was gonna flip to hip-hop music. I told that person if it does happen my dial still ain't budging from the existing hip-hop station 93.7 FM as long as 102.9 FM still sounds like crap).

As for paying the cable bill - In most cases ION is an Over-the-Air broadcast station. In the case of Hartford it's WHPX/26 out of New London. Cable companies do not get a dime for carrying local stations. It's called MUST CARRY. According to FCC Regulations all full-powered TV stations in any given market MUST BE CARRIED on cable, that is the reason the ION stations even get cable carriage when most of their programming is of infomercial variety.

I.E. All cable companies in Hartford Must Carry the following Channels:

3 WFSB CBS
8 WTNH ABC
18 WUVN Univsion
20 WTXX CW
24 WEDH PBS
26 WHPX ION
30 WVIT NBC
59 WCTX MY NETWORK TV
61 WTIC-TV FOX

These are all the full-powered stations in the Hartford/New Haven TV Market. Low-powered TV stations are not required to be carried, however WRDM-LP/50 The Telemundo affiliate is on most cable systems in Central and Western Connecticut. Other low-powered stations WHCT-LP/38 Azteca Amercia and WRNT-LP/48 are not carried on any cable systems. WUTH-CA/47 the Telefutura affiliate is carried on some cable system's Digital Tier and is actually picked up from WUVN Channel 18.2 which is WUVN's Digital Sub Channel.

I watch ION over Dishnetwork (national feed) and it looks slightly soft, but it otherwise fine. I also did not realize that a new Back to You was on Wednesday night - but I have a DVR and it caught it - so when I went through my weekly shows this saturday it was there. I have also set up timers for my favorite old shows that are not regularly scheduled so if a odd episode sneaks in it will record. That happened when KTLA did a special promotion a month or so ago and showed episodes of Father Knows Best. DVRs are almost essentials these days.

Solomon, you missed Tuesday's episode altogether? That's a shame . . . I liked it a lot more than Wednesdays episode. But, it's FOX's fault. I agree with you on that - they should have, IMO, aired one episode Wednesday at 9:30, then the next episode next Wednesday at 9:30, just so we don't have to wait as long for more new episodes. I also ratings were not as great as we were hoping for both airings . . . just over 12 million.

I only watched ION Monday and Tuesday of this week for Drew Carey at 9pm. To me, it doesn't seem all that bad, but it definitely isn't great. I don't understand why it's so hard to get a better picture from them.
