Question Walgreen's Printer Cartridge Ink Refills. Any good?

I just got a new printer, so I'm not sure what the ink cartridges will cost, but I was paying close to $60. I saw a commercial for Walgreen's, where you bring your empty ink cartridges in, and they'll fill them, at a considerable savings. Has anyone tried this?

We've done it about 7 times now and have never had a problem. I don't think I'd ever use anything else now

^^^^^^ That is great to hear. I have always wondered myself abt that. I have been curious but not enough to go and actually do it. I buy the cartridges from Best Buy (not cheap, you got that right Janice) and they supply a postage paid envelope inside the box so I can mail the empty inkjet cartridges back to the company and they dispose them properly. Apparently you should not just throw them away because of landfill problems and the ecology.

Sounds like the Wal-mart refill is the way to go.

That's what is so great about the refills.. you don't have to worry about throwing the empty cartridges away or sending them back to the company since they are used for the refill (just take them out of the printer, bring them in, have them filled and put them right back in). The money saved *especially if you use a lot of ink like I do* is really great!

That sounds great! The only thing I dread is having to go into Wal-mart. The parking lot is always crowded and the noise inside...oy vey.

Use the Walgreens refill (if there's one close to you). If your Walgreens is like ours it's ALWAYS empty and that's where I've been getting our refills. You couldn't pay me to walk into Wal-mart at this time of year

I get a $3 off coupon from Staples for each empty cartridge...I'm not refilling them!

That's ideal if your cartridges don't cost a lot. I'll save $35 by having them refilled at Walgreens.

Depends on the ones I buy (the amount of ink in the cartridge affects the price of them). Fortunately, I don't buy ink a lot. I use the coupons more on DVD cases and inserts.

To really complicate matters, the guy who played Wally on LITB works there, and gives out free passes to Wally World AND The Waltons DVDs.

They run a series of tests on the cartdrige before refilling and had a day of free refills .
My Lexmark cartdrige didn't pass the electronic test so it couldn't be done.
