Exclamation Promoting

It seems LIFETIME is using Nancy McKeon to promote "The Division". She is the first picture you see once you enter their site, and I caught another promo today and they've singled her out-saying it stars Nancy McKeon, and it also tells that the L.A. Times found her 'real, earthy, and funny'. I keep thinking back to what Debroh Joy Levine
said in the IP interview, "All these people came yelling at her screaming Jo, and I realized, 'oh my God, she's TV star'. Guess they're using the 'tv star' to promote their new show...

Oh, well, just something I found interesting...

[Jo to Blair]
Jo: Things are not going well here...I think I'm gonna have to hit somebody.
Natalie: I didn't ask you to stick up for me Jo.
Jo: I think I'm gonna have to hit you.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
Beverly Ann: Let's see. It's tomorrow in Africa so if I want to talk to Edna today then I should have called her yesterday...
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
Blair: The worst thing about falling asleep at the wheel is that I didn't get to see my whole life flash in front of my eyes.
Jo: Well that woulda killed ya for sure.

Yea, I noticed that too. And I keep on trying to catch that one commercial with the reviews, I watch enough lifetime between the Golden Girls and Murphy Brown that I should catch it, but I haven't. I just hope their putting as much energy into future episodes as they are into promoting the show.

I agree. The first two episodes seemed to pull in alot of viewers thanks to their promoting the show, but she viewers want continue to watch if the show doesn't gradually approve-which I hope it does. They have assembled a great cast, now let's hope the writers keep everyone's interest. I also watch "Golden Girls" and "Murphy Brown", and during the one hour of each show I've only seen two promos: but at least I've seen two!
I hope the show just gets better and better...

I definitely agree, ks. Most of the messages on the Lifetime 'Division' message board are either about Nancy or the character she portrays, Jinny. The majority of her fans seem to be either teens who have recently caught FOL on Nick for the first time or fans in their 30's who grew up with Nancy.

I still say it's ironic that even though she doesn't want to be associated with FOL anymore, it is her 'Jo' fan base that has made her the tv star she is today and is probably the reason many viewers tuned in to check out 'The Division.' She is a tv star because of her time on FOL and Lifetime is smart to take advantage of her tv star status.

Tootie: Muffy? Her name is Muffy? What kind of person is named Muffy?

Jo: Beats me, Tootie.
