Eastland Undercover
Episode 4:
Just one of the Tomboys

Jo had just made a major bust and it was all over the newspapers while Detective Edwards and herself were both kept out of the papers by the PPD. With all of this going on any potential crimes at Eastland were probably averted for the time being with the heat clearly on there. With this in mind Jo thought her undercover cop days were over. She was wrong.

The next Monday she was kept after school for calling Detective Edwards "Pimp Daddy" for his light purple suit with a pink fly coller. At least that's what the other girls in class thought.

"I have a new assignment for you from Headquarters."

"I thought that with the heat on the school that nothing would be happening for a while. What is it now?"

"Well Jo you are absolutely right about that. The assignment isn't at Eastland but at the Bates Military Acadamy. The PPD has reason to believe that somehow military training secrets are being sold to the Soviet Union within the acadamy. We have had a great deal of difficulty infiltrating Bates since it is a military acadamy with strict regulations and security. We need you to get in and investigate."

"Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey wait a second pal, I'm a girl remember?"

"With you're attitude you could have fooled me!"

"At this point you are abusing sarcasm."

"The undercover wing of the Peekskill Police have already prepared a disguise for you to enter Bates as a boy. We have a name, i.d. and clothing for you to wear there. We have also gotten you accepted into Bates."

"You people are sick but I'll do it if it gets me out of reading Brave New World for Friday!"

"Great! I will meet you at the academy for 9:00am sharp and I will brief you then!"

Back in her room Jo packed up and prepared for her tour of duty at Bates. Blair and the other girls wondered where she was going but Jo said she was going back home to be with her sick mom. Relieved to be rid of her for a brief spell the girls quickly bought the story and left her alone.

The next day Rick showed Jo who to watch and how they think the info has been sent to the Russians.

"See the guy with the crew cut?"

"Yeah, all 500 of them!"

"Well watch the short blonde one. He's a senior letterman and a football player. He's short but tough as nails. He is a prototype U.S. soldier and being watched very closely by the spies. The closer you are to him, the closer you are to the commies."

"That shouldn't be too hard!" Jo said clearly attracted to the young fellow.

"Don't be too attracted to him since they do throw out homosexuals in the military. You are a boy here for all intents and purposes, got it?"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah."

"Anyway, they seem to do their handoffs to KGB agents at the school dances. These dances are joint dances between Eastland and Bates. They alternate from the 2 schools but this week's dance is at Bates. We need you to have a suspect or two locked down going into the dance so we can catch them red handed so to speak."

"You want me to go to a school dance as a boy? That's sick!"

"That's perfect! Nobody would suspect you not only being an undercover cop but a BOY so this shouldn't be too hard!"

"Man, Regan propoganda is really getting out of hand on tv these days isn't it?" Jo says to the audience!

Once in the school Jo got along with just about everyone at Bates. She was even invited to play for the Bates hockey team. She agreed but after kicking the asses of everyone on the ice for a day she quit citing that hockey wasn't violent enough for her. Since she was the last person off the ice nobody suspected her to be a girl since she was the last one in the dressing room and last one in the shower. Upon getting out of the shower she noticed 2 red headed boys sneaking out of the rink area of Bates. She followed them but lost track of them an the way to the dorms of which she was still not firmilliar with yet and it was dark out.

Since she figured that they would be back another day she went back to her barracks to get some sleep after a long first day. Who was there when she got there? Roy! He didn't reconize her with her boy disguise on and a Bates uniform but he saw her play hockey that afternoon.

"Hey Joe! Great game out there!" Roy said and slapped Jo on the behind.

"Thanks, I think." Jo said biting her tounge to keep herself from killing him!

Roy dropped off his parcell and had the commanding officer sign for it and was on his way. The biggest threat to her cover was now past. As she went up to her dorm she noticed a redheaded fellow speaking in something other then English and she put a bug on the couch as she walked by the person. Had she found her spy or was it just some horny army brat trying to use code to get some play under the bleachers? Either way Jo had someone in her sights.

Thanks for the feedback!

After a pretty heavy handed and darker themed first assignment I decided to go for laughs the second time around. I had to put Roy in there because he's due.

One thing that has been a running theme is that Blair, Tootie, Natalie and Mrs Garrett haven't been in the story very much. This will change in the next episode where Blair is voted Harvest Queen and Jo under the name Joe gets voted Harvest King. Let's just say that things are about to get interesting!
