A friend of mine is a very high ranking VIP at cbs in hollywood, I also am friendly with 2 members of the production staff. I am closer with the executive then I am with the members of the production staff, but none the less I talk to both of these people multiple times every week. Plus I am friendly with someone who knows the producer of the show Roger Dobkowitz. I personally do not talk to roger although I have met him dozens of times when I am at the show in LA

I got a question for you! On Drew's first contract, how many years did he sign for to be the host?

I've got a question for you:How has the show done, ratingswise? The reason I ask this,is because at the end of today's "Guiding Light",when they give the credits, they aired an advertisement for "The Price is Right" with Drew Carey.Obviously,it is NOT doing very well in the ratings-or is it doing remarkably well?

Thanks for the reply to my question. Here's another one for you:

Do you know if Drew plans on being the host of TPIR for the long-term?

COOL. I have no question but just wanted to say TPIR did the right thing in choosing Drew Carey. They obviously tested many to try and replace Bob, and found Drew to be down to earth, funny and overall the best man for the job. I feel he is doing a great job and I know he has to work out some of his quirks, like the microphone being too close to his mouth and the hand playing with the pocket thingy, but overall, he is doing so good considering the legion of Bob fans who were sad to see Bob leave.

i think drew is doing a great job too .like most of us here i agree that he needs time to adjust and to make the show his own but in time im sure he will devlop his own following just as bob did i enjoy the fact that he seemes excited for the contestants when they win like the other day when a contestant won a truck and started jumping up and down and drew laughed and started jumping up and down with him some people might find it annoying but i didnt

I don't have the official ratings, but it is my understanding that drews first show did very very well, not quite as good as Bob Barkers last week of shows, but still very respectable. The ratings then slowly declined over the next 4 days. The show will always be a ratings machine for CBS. Let me get the official numbers & I will get back to you.

Also, CBS did a lousy job of letting folks know that they were taping again. Most of the summer they had no ticket plugs during the reruns & it wasn't until more than 10 days into Drew Tapings in August did they begin doing ticket plugs for the new show. They had to resort to paying audience members to attend the show. There were also a few empty seats in the corner of studio for more than 1 taping. Now that the new shows are airing this will no longer be an issue but I found that very interesting.

When Bob was the host you had to line up hours & sometimes days in advance to get into the show, now you can basically show up the morning of & get in, no problem.

All the indications are that Drew is in this for the long haul. One thing I know for sure is that Drew is having fun doing the show & he is very well liked on the set & he is getting paid very well. Unless something unforseen happens I say Drew is the host of the show into the next decade.

Agreed Irene, I am liking the show more & more each day, When you have someone host the show for as long as Bob did, it takes a while to get used to the new kid on the block. I see alot of good things in Drews Style. He is attempting to make the show his own while at the same time keeping the show the same. I have him under a microscope, watching his every move & comparing it to bob & that is not fair to him. BOB is bob & drew is drew, this is the new era & in time I think everyone will grow accustomed to him.

He does have to fix that microphone issue, that is very annoying & yes he does have a few quirks, but as long as he has his price fundamentals down, he will be fine!
