Default Has anyone on here done something like this before in public?

Eat alone?-lol

I was talking to someone today and was saying that I feel it's very pointless for me because when I go out to eat I like to talk with people. Not just chew and stare at everyone in the restarunt-lol

So who on this board has acrtually gone out to eat ALONE? And if you did, did atleast have something READ while eating?

I did. And yes, I had something to read. I can't just eat there and look around. I either had a newspaper or a magazine. I have seen people eat alone but they look comfortable, even though they are not reading. I can't do that.

You're funny.

I guess if they really love seafood, alone or not, they are going to go!

I do. It happens when you're single, lonely, busy and hungry.

I get over it.

it depends on the place I guess. Fast food, yes... place where you get a sandwich or something yes, but not a place like Applebees, Red Lobster, etc...

I haven't gone out to eat alone. That would be boring. I used to eat alone a lot in elementary school when I was little though.

I wouldn't eat alone at a resturant, I'd feel like everyone was staring at me. If I had to eat alone I would do fast food and eat in my car.

I've eaten fast food alone (hey, I have to go somewhere during my 2 hour long breaks at school!) but never a restaurant. To me, eating at a restaurant is a social thing.

I've eaten alone a couple of times before at a restaurant, and I did have a book with me.
