I learned this on Mark Evanier's website: Fred MacMurray and William Frawley
were cast as two cops in the B-movie "Car 99" (directed by Charles Barton, who also directed the classic comedy "Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein"), almost thirty years before working together on MY THREE SONS. |

Fred MacMurray and William Frawley were also in "The Princess Comes Across" with Carole Lombard in 1936. I have screencaps from the movie in the sitcomsonline.com 'My Three Sons' photo galleries.
Fred MacMurray and William Demerest were in "Hands Across The Table(1935)" "Never a Dull Moment (1950)" and "On Our Merry Way (1948)" together. I have screen caps of "Hands Across The Table" in the photo gallery too. |

Cool. I didn't know that, either.
