That is hilarious - I'll have to tell my mom that.

I saw this one on Jay Leno's Headlines - the Titanic Slide. It's one of those little inflatable slides you have for the kids in your yard - a likeness of the Titanic going under. How classy () is that?

On request of Irene,

Not an odd product, but an odd use for a product. Lysol used to advertise their disifectant spray as a femine deodorizer spray. can you imagine anyone using Lysol to mask thier femine odor? nasty!

How abt "privates"? that is a well-known word for that area. You may end up getting reported for that type of chat.

You're welcome. What was Lysol thinking when they came up with that ad? Thank god they came to thier senses when they stopped that ad. A lightbulb must have gone off in thier heads. I can imagine them saying, 'Who would use a cleaner on their privates? what were we thinking when we came up with that idea?' Oh yeah, we came up with that idea after hitting the bars all night and waking up in a drunken stupor. Thank god we sobered up before anyone had a chance to sue us for health problems!

Funny thing, the same weekend I bought that action figure, I also happened to buy a Canadian history book, at a used book sale...and right there on page 1 was the picture of John A. that they had used to model the figure from! ( Which I scanned here )...talk about an AMAZING coincedence!

Default Does anyone BESIDES me remember the ads for....

'I Hate Peas!'

For as long as children have been shoving Brussels sprouts under mashed potatoes and slipping green beans to the dog, parents have been hunting desperately for a way to end the vegetable discrimination.

Finally, in the 1970's, American Kitchen Foods, Inc. came to the rescue (or at least tried) with the release of "I Hate Peas!" Since kids love French fries so much, the company decided that disguising peas in a fry-shaped form was a sure-fire way to trick tots into getting their vitamins.

Children all over America saw through the ruse. After all, a pea is a pea is a pea, and the name of the product was more than apropos, no matter what it looked like. There were other thinly disguised vegetables in the company's "I Hate" line, but kids hated those, too....This product was gone in less than 2 years, yet, somehow, I remember it! (btw, when i was little, I LOVED peas!)

When exactly in the 70's? I must have been a wee youngster because I don't remember the ad.
