Default Ep #8-Men Are Messy Synop

Boy, Lucy sure finds that out after she tidies the apt. up and Ricky comes home and makes quite a mess of it in record time. Lucy's not amused and lets him know it. He brushes her displeasure off, and she doesn't forget this. She tapes a dividing line thru the middle of the room--the Ricardo's Mason-Dixon line so to speak. Fred & Ethel come down and of course take sides--men vs. the gals. Lucy decides to get even by making the place a real mess when a photographer comes to take pictures. Unfortunately, he's not from the trade mag--but from LOOK. And he get quite an eyeful,--laundry hanging in the living room, chickens, rubber tires--Lucy really outdid herself! And when she finds out the photograher was from LOOK, and that the ultimate joke was on her, she gives one of her famous wailing/crying jags. Poor thing, publicity freak that she is, is not at all happy withl "hillbilly" pic splashed across the cover of LOOK.

Here's another one of those one-time-wonders. When do we ever see Ricky behave like that again? And Fred's behvaior! He puts his feet up on the table and tosses banana peels. I would never do that in someone else's house even if it was my best friend.

This is another time I wonder where Lucy got all that junk and how she got it up to a 4th floor apartment that had no elevator!

Well said Stacy. It is definitely a "one episode wonder" too see Ricky behave in that fashion. That was exaggerated behavior for sure. And for Fred as well to even do that. I tell ya, Ricky and Fred got off easy because there is no way in hell I would allow ANYONE to trash my house after I cleaned it up!!!

And the nerve of Ricky to tell Lucy to clean up the house because of that magazine photographer coming to the apartment. Hello Ricky!!! When did you ever come home to a dirty house? NEVER! Served Ricky right for saying such a dumb thing. And he even told the photographer that Lucy is a wonderful homemaker (housecleaner, something like that) and she needed no warning. That was abt the only truthful thing he said in that episode!

As Roseanne Conner would say, "He's such a jerk!"

BTW according to my Lucy book, the man who played Kenny, was played by Kenny Morgan and at that time he was married to Lucille Ball's cousin, Cleo. He was also Desilu's PR representative.
