I wouldn't say the plot twist at the end was anything like Darth Vader revealing that he was Luke's father, but if you read up on 'BTY' enough, you would have at least known that there was a child cast on the show.

I'm sorry, Solomon, but I'd have to disagree with you on this one. If you had looked more into the show, or had even looked at the picture at the top of the Back to You message board, you would have known a chil would be in this show. It was in numerous of Brian's posts (there's a reason to read them
), so it wasn't a surprise to me. Plus, I didn't mind the addition to the seriousness at all. If you ever watched the pilot for Murphy Brown, there were many serious moments in the episode, yet it was one of the best and funniest episodes of the entire series. Although, I do love you TV highlight of the week. I don't watch Larry King much, but I did tune in to her interview, and I loved it.

I guess it would have been ok if the serious moment was in the middle and keep the beginning and ending on a more comical note. Yeah Joy's appearance was supposed to be on Wed but she was bumped for O.J.-lol |

I heard about that. Friday night was much better for me, though, so I'm glad it happened that way! I think they put the seriousness towards the end, to keep viewers on edge until next Wednesday. If they put it in the middle, it really ouldn't mean as much as it did at the end. |

I just hope the show doesn't revolve around those two characters and not the staff as a whole because then I can see myself losing interest |

I could see myslef losing interest too. The show definitely could not stand up year after year mainly revolving around those 2 characters. I was really hoping for another good newsroom comedy, since IMO, we haven't had one since 1998 when Murphy Brown aired it's final episode. If they can keep up good, funny, journalistic, newsroom comedy, then I'll be happy. But, if they wanna do episodes around the kid, then I wouldn't care less. |

I didn't care for the child in the cast of BTY. I could see the show being a hit with the three actors, Heaton, Grammer and Willard. I did comment on the BTY board abt how some shows have many characters and did very well. However, after seeing the pilot, I can easily say now, the weathergirl should be downplayed and toned down A LOT! There is so much that can be done with that character and instead, she is dumb-downed. There are great characters that have played the dumb-down character in a great way (Woody Harrelson on Cheers) however, this is not the show for that.

But I have a funny feeling that it won't be like Newsradio or Murphy Brown because of how every ad I see the for the show just features them too. The ad I see doesn't showl the entire cast just Grammar's character being tied up by the wre of a microphone with Heaton's character next to him. I'm wondering if this is really a show about the Romantic and Working relationship of two anchors?-lol |

Every ad I have seen for the show only has Grammar and Heaton. They really need to show off the rest of the cast, or else this show won't be going anywhere viewerwise. It really seems like a romantic comedy to me at this point. The pilot episode was about the 2 characters talking about their romantic past, and had almost nothing to do with the newsroom. I really hope they tone that done, and bring out the workroom comedy we want to see. |

This week's episode is about Chuck being a good parent by keeping a goldfish. Not the best episode, for sure, to be doing the first week of the fall season. They should have stuck with newsroom, and did an episode like this later on in the season. |

I'm starting wonder now about when Brian said the Title was changed from Action News or something that gave you the Worplace comedy feel to Back To you. So I really feel this will be a romantic comedy since the Action News title was not used |

I'm sure they're gonna evolve it as a romantic comedy. The third episode's title is "The First Supper." After hearing that, I think of an episode with Chuck, Kelly, and the kid eating dinner together, trying to be a family. just my opinion, but it still has nothing to do with newsroom. I didn't know they changed the title of it. They obviously rewrote the show then if they changed the name to Back to You. It probably was totally about a newsroom in the beginning, then changed it to Back to You to resemble the "becoming a family" theme. |
