Default Looking for the name of this John Ritter TV movie

It was a made for TV movie on Lifetime I believe. He played a successful car salesman, and all of a sudden, his daughter got seriously ill with some type of cancer, and he missed a lot of work and it affected his performance on the job when he did come to work and he ended up being terminated. His family grew poorer and poorer until he filed a lawsuit on the car dealership that let him go. It was based on a true story. I searched IMDB and clicked on to everything and none of his movie credits seems to describe that. That was one of my favorite John Ritter TV movies. If anyone knows the name of the movie, that was really help me out.

Thanks for that! I can't believe that was one of very few movies on his list I skipped.

I don't remember that one, but I remember a TV movie where he and Henry Winkler played mortal enemies and he drowned Henry Winkler by holding his face under the water in the kitchen sink. He then calls 911 to report he killed the guy. I only saw the end of that movie, that one scene, and it has stayed with me all these years. What was the name of this movie? Synopsis?

Of course, John Ritter and Henry Winkler were best friends in real life. Maybe that's one reason why that scene was so disturbing.

Thanks! I'd like to see the whole movie someday - just to see both men doing dark, dramatic stuff. I did see Henry Winkler's guest spot on SVU several years back and he did a great job!

That was a good movie as well. That had to be my second favorite John Ritter TV movie. It was kind of funny because Fonzie was such a nut in that movie.

Does anyone know the name of John Ritter's first tv movie where he played a rodeo star who got paralyzed? I remember seeing the movie and hearing the buzz about my Mom's ex-inlaw being an extra in the movie. He was referred to as Limon a ranch hand, he was briefly shown you really couldn't see his face.

That movie was his first starring role in a TV movie. Leave Yesterday Behind was the name, from 1978, I think.

Didn't he do a movie called Sunset Boulevard? He played a comic? Am I just imagining things?

He was a polo player and he fell off his horse and was paralyzed. He went to live with his grandfather(Buddy Ebson) and he fell in love with the farm hand's daughter(Carrie Fisher). It's a great movie!
