As some of you guys may remember, I just moved last month. I moved to a new place in a new state. Assuming that you don't live under a rock, you guys know how stressful such a move is. Starting a new life, getting a new job, getting a new state ID card made up, opening a checking account at a new bank, etc etc etc.
Right. I've done a lot of these things since getting here. I have that new ID card in my hand, am always job-hunting, getting all sorts of things figured out for myself, etc. Last week, I crossed off one of these important things: getting a new checking account. All that stuff is in my hands now - checking account, checks and check card. The check card arrived today. Excellent. I'm used to having check cards that have a two-year timeframe on it. They expire two years from the time it is issued to you. When I got my check card, I looked at the expiration date on it. This card is good for four years. Or... According to the GOOD THRU date, 09/11. I just about had a heart attack when I saw that. It would've been even more creepy had it arrived on the actual 9/11 date (yesterday). I know the "11" date is just the year, but damn if that doesn't give me goosebumps every time I look at it now. I managed to freak myself out even more when I came to a horrible realization... When it's time for me to get a new card, it will be during the ten YEAR anniversary of the actual 9/11. How much more creepy can it get?! Yeesh. It's just a freakin' card, but STILL.

Heh..my car recently started on fire at the corner of 66th and 6th.
Luckily, the pizza place right there had an extinguisher readily available to put out the small fire. |

I always thought it was dumb that check cards had expiration dates anyway. As long as there isn't a picture of a building superimposed into the card...
Devil streets though.....O_O. Holy ****. Were the signs painted red?? |

Yeah, that is strange. You've been a busy gal, Allison. Wow, what a big move for you. I'm glad it's working out for you.
