Default Need Song Help....

First of all....

I was a big fan of this series. I really wish someone would kick the series back up with Army wives doing so well and all...

Now the song...

On one of the episodes, there was a guy that either worked in the record store or was just coming by to visit the dark headed girl. Toward the end of one episode, he sang a song that was called either American Girl or Miss American Girl or something like that. I could be wrong about the character that sang it but I think I am right. Was wondering if any one knew the artists or has the song available to send to me. If so email me at woundedangel@tx.rr.com

Thanks for all your help

Tom Petty did a song called An American Girl but I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for.

Well she was an american girl
Raised on promises
She couldnt help thinkin that there
Was a little more to life
Somewhere else
After all it was a great big world
With lots of places to run to
Yeah, an d if she had to die
Tryin she had one little promise
She was gonna keep

Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an american girl

It was kind of cold that night
She stood alone on her balcony
She could the cars roll by
Out on 441
Like waves crashin in the beach
And for one desperate moment there
He crept back in her memory
God its so painful
Something thats so close
And still so far out of reach

Oh yeah, all right
Take it easy baby
Make it last all night
She was an american girl

Well hell, At least I tried. Do you have any lyrics? That might help.
