1990s short lived sitcom - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Does anyone know the name of this very short lived early 90`s sitcom. I really do not who starred in it but in one episode in particular, one of the cast members sends himself a birthday gift, which arrived via courrier. He opens it up and decides he does not like it so he has to return it.
The setting was three or so friends working in some auto parts store.
One guy was really fat etc.
It lasted a few episodes and was later cancelled.
I believe one of the members later went on to a really popular show.

My first thought was The Good Life from 1994, but I don't think that's it.
