Default Dayshift or Nightshift

Which one would you rather work? I love working nightshift because I am available in the morning to do as I please. If there is a problem at school I can go to the school without having to ask my boss. I can run errands without worrying will the bank be closed when I get off. I can sleep all day until school is out. Just some advantages of working the night shift

Same here Plus, I love sleeping in

The downside? You get to miss going out with friends at night

Day. I'm a night owl, but I couldn't work that shift. I see how hard it is for my dad on his days off.

I'm a night owl so I love the hours I work: noon-8 pm. I get to sleep later and I miss rush hour!

That is exactly what I was going to post I work the evening shift from noon to 8pm also and I like it for exactly those reasons you said. That shift is perfect for me, although it can really screw up your meal times though! Sometimes I'm eating dinner at 9 o'clock at night or breakfast at 11am or noon!

I like the night shift, but it can be hard when you are trying to sleep during the day if you are sensitive to light. I drove during a taxi cab for 12 hour shift. It can get to you sometimes. I would pull over and sleep or go home and sleep then get back out and work. My breaks would be between 1 and 4 hours.

In my last job, I didn't mind getting up at 7am.

Where I work now I prefer nights. Mostly because I hate the vibes of the day shift. Everybody seems grumpy and everything is chaotic. I've never been comfortable working days at Whole Foods. Plus, I just love the people I work with at nights.

There have been times I've wanted to go back to sleep on my day shift days. I never had that desire in my last job.

Then theres the fact I can sleep in, miss rush hour and run errands.

I've always liked day shifts.
I have not worked an overnight shift, but I have worked afternoon and evening hours (2:30 to 11:00 PM).

You get to sleep in on a night shift, but that about the only good thing about it. Less traffic, too.

But I like the hours most other people have, like 8:00 to 4:30 or 7:00 to 3:30 PM.

I'm a night owl so I love that my shifts are normally later. The last 2 nights I've worked 2:30 to 11:00 and tomorrow I come in at 3:00. It's so nice being able to sleep in.

I work the 11 pm to 7 am shift, I'm not crazy about it because its so hard to go to sleep when I get off. But it pays more and I'm home when my son gets home from school.

As much as I despise early mornings, I would rather work the morning shift. I feel like I have the rest of the day ahead of me when I get off, whereas, working the night (evening) shift, once that's over the day is over.

I'm a day shift person. I've done it so long it'd feel unnatural to work another shift. BUT WHAT I DO LOVE is a late office--one where you can come in at 9:30 and still be one of the first people there. I'm really lucky because I work in such a place now. I work for a bunch of public interest lawyers and most don't come in til 10-10:45am. It's great and I love it. But on the other side we all work late. I rarely leave before 6:30 but then I don't mind working late. So there you have it.
