What I don't get, is what was the argument all abt to begin with? Why was the father trying to take the newborn out of the hospital??????? That is the question I want answered.

I agree, the fact that the child is in State custody because the father has a history of domestic violence leads me to believe he was tryin to force his way out of the hospital. I am not sure what was going through the guards mind at the time but when the hospital is on lockdown there is no way they were going to let him leave with the baby. Not the brightest judgement for sure but perhaps the guard felt the baby was in more danger the way the father was acting. It is hard to judge not knowing the entiore story but it certainly should have been handled better to protect the child

Thank you Lex. I seen on the news where the father stated he fell after being tasered and the baby hit its head on the floor. Ok, you can blame the guard for using the taser on a man holding the baby, but then had he not used the taser, what else could they have done? The man was holding the baby "hostage" in essence, it wasn't like he was going to let go of the infant voluntarily.
The father (can't call him that, but for argument's sake I will) says he will SUE! I didn't catch the beginning of the story on the news, that is why I was asking why was he trying to remove the baby. I also didn't read the link provided here because I knew what the story was abt. I didn't realize the link provided the information. |

He was trying to remove the baby because the mother did not like the care she was getting and wanted to leave the hospital.

But obviously if the hospital thought it was safe for the baby to leave they would have just let him sign out.
The guy has a history of domestic violence and I am sure he got violent and/or threatening with hospital staff It is very unfortunate that the baby was in his arms when the guy got tasered but considering that the State has kept custody of the child, I can't imagine what might happen to the kid if he actually was removed by the father. |

couldn't there have been a more effective way of dealing with this intruder? i've read all sorts of things in regards to the amount of damage and harm it inflicts on the persons. taser guns look nasty. i saw on the news a few years ago of some cops in america testing the stun guns out on a few random guys, and the effects of it looked devastating to say the least
