It's boring because we need some of those annoying members that rile everyone up back. THAT'S when it gets fun. I don't care what any of you say, you know it's true.

Strangely, "Alfred E Newman" started out as an illustration on an Edwardian newspaper advertisement (1910), for a painless dentistry franshise named Painless Romaine!(Thus the missing tooth )< You know its slow when you bother to read trivia THIS trivial! ...and spend 20 mins looking for a copy of said ad

He also appeared in 2 1936 issues of The State, Down Home In North Carolina. I bought 1,200 of the magazines dating from 1935 - 1977 from a man here in town for $30 & both of those issues were included. I no longer have the photos but as you can see, I didn't do half bad considering I had about 6 cents in both.

Jun 18 13:30:13 State Magazine North Carolina Sept 1935 Alfred E Neuman 7040530131 Final Value Fee $3.64
Final price: $102.50 (Auction)
Jun 18 13:37:24 State Magazine North Carolina 9/28/35 Alfred E. Neuman 7040532182 Final Value Fee $2.36
Final price: $59.89 (Auction)
