I liked this rant a lot. There is a lot more you could have said about the network, like how they acquire shows (Growing Pains, Murphy Brown, Designing Women) and then just shove them at 5am or take them off the schedule altogether, or how they never seem to listen to what the viewers want, but if you had, you would have been here all weekend writing it, so good rant!

I know but I was told to focus on the main things that annoy me because the rant shouldn't be too lengthy because people wouls start to get bored with very long rants

I agree marathons should be used sparingly, I hate them over weekdays but I'm not so bothered at weekends.

A station here called Paramount Comedy often does marathons at weekends but with a slight twist, on Paramount 1 they alternate so a 10 hour marathon but with 2 shows like Frasier and Becker, that I think makes it a good marathon, 10 hours of one could be tedious but 10 episodes split over 10 hours is better ... much more enjoyable.

Great rant, Nick at nite's so annoying these days. I hardly ever watch it anymore. Who needs these stupid marathons? On these weekly marathons, they treat whatever show it is like it's their only show. It could be so much better, especially if they showed the shows they've abandoned, and showed the ones that they banished to a late timeslot in a better timeslot.

I can't stand marathons. TV sitcoms should only be seen once a day like the old days...that way more shows can be seen.

Excellent rant Solomon and right on target. You're a good writer. Nick is a complete joke.

Thank you Solomon for telling it like it is. You seemed to put together all the rants of what "we" here at S.O. have been saying all along abt N&N.

I too agree abt AFHV being acquired for N&N. What I don't get, is if they decided to show us this show, WHY ON EARTH ARE THEY SHOWING US EPISODES FEATURING BOB SAGET? Those are ancient!!!! He is not funny and puts me to sleep. I prefer to watch AFHV that currently shows on ABC, not in reruns. That is not the type of show I want to see in reruns. That is like watching SURVIVOR or EXTREME HOME MAKEOVER...we already know the outcome, so why do we want to see that type of show in a rerun? I watch SITCOMS in reruns because it is entertaining and fun to discuss here on the board. You can't discuss a reality game show (SURVIVOR) that is a rerun. That type of discussion is only good when the show is being shown THE FIRST TIME AROUND. Good Job Solomon.

Probably because viewers recognize him from Full House.

I always hated that show hosted by Bob Saget. First of all, I never found him to be funny. (Sorry, Bob Saget fans, but that's just the way I feel.) Secondly, a lot of that stuff you could tell was obviously staged. Therefore, I used to call it "America's Most Obviously Staged Home Videos". It was too predictable anyway. Usually you'd see some wedding cake accident, some guy getting his private area smacked by his son swinging a whiffle bat, and someone tripping over something. I think only sadists like that show.

Oh, and as far an N@N, I don't think I've watched it since they took over Bewitched. When was that, 1999? So it's been awhile. That station is a joke.
