I was a big fan of this show. I am also a faithful watcher of Ugly Betty and there are so many similarities.
Sara Rue,"less than perfect"/ Betty, "ugly". Has two trendy yet jealous co-workers(one male, one female) who think they deserve her job. They don't get along all the time but they have their moments when they begrudgingly work together and need each other. She's the assistant to the most important man in the company and they often end up mixing business and their personal life in the course of a work day (and on into the night). They both have their goofy, lovable friends that are also considered square. Ugly Betty isn't all that original, but I think people see it that way because Less Than Perfect didn't have the ratings success or star power that UB has. I still love the show, but I wish someone out in Hollywood would call attention to it-give LTP its props! Julie

Ugly Betty is based on a spanish soap opera that was a hit. There had been a few copy cats of that spanish soap opera, so I wouldn't necessarily say that LTP is being copied here, maybe LTP is the one who copied off of BETTY LA FEA, the show that Ugly Betty came from.

Yes, that is very possible. Doing a quick google, LTP started in 2002 and Betty La Fea 1999.
