and I just can't get over how Popeye and Bluto fight over Olive Oyle. She is skinny, got a round face, and is ugly. Definitely not worth near killing the next man over. Every episode, she is always portrayed as some beauty queen. Bluto needed to get a life, and Popeye should have moved on.

I so agree with you. Was she really worth it? I don't think so. And I hope some idiot doesn't post here, "it's just a cartoon"...

....somehow, his writers settled on the perennial rivalry between Popeye and Bluto for Olive's affections as the main thrust of the theatrical cartoons....especallly after "Famous Studios" succeeded Fleischer's animated unit in 1942. And everyone knows how well THEY drove great ideas into the ground!
