Thanks for doing this! I've been trying to find all the affiliates' schedules but to no avail. I'll mark these changes and add them to my "Where to find classic series..." post which I haven't updated for a few weeks. I was wondering what the programming will look like when RTN goes national this summer. What have you heard so far? I'll assume that all stations will then follow the same schedule. If they stick to this formula, it should be sensational. I know some folks here are excited about ION, but I'd say that RTN's schedule is better, in particular the St. Louis and Buffalo channels, even though I'm willing to guess that ION's ratings are a little better. Oh well, there's no accounting for taste.

MrBrand: Have you tried watching the streaming video when the actual RTN progams are on? I wonder if it is blacked out?

Yes, I actually checked it last night to be certain it was working before posting the link and caught part of Mission: Impossible.

I see no 1950's sitcoms at all, and the only other 1950's shows I see listed are dramas and westerns: Perry Mason, Have Gun-Will Travel and two shows which started in 1959 and barely qualify as being in the 1950's decade (Twilight Zone and Rawhide). Gunsmoke spanned 1955-1975, but as TV Land does, they probably won't show any of the B&W episodes from pre 1965 (not that I care).

Again, another channel with an averison to anything from the 1950's. (I am surprised they are going to broadcast anything filmed in black and white at all).

My locale (KDEV) only lists 6 one-hour shows and they're all dramas. I guess the rest of the time will be filled up with "paid programming" (infomercials) and locally selected programs (no hope there either).

I see the TV listing supplement in my local paper (Denver) doesn't even list the Retro station for the area (KDEV channel 39) even though all the other low-power UHF analog channels are listed. It's hardly necessary to mention, Comcast Cable doesn't carry it at all.

Now, where's that 'bowtie' UHF antenna I used to have?

V20. I have to agree. I am a huge fan of many B&W shows but I have a feeling we may NEVER see them again unless they somehow make it to dvd, legit or otherwise.

On the streaming ... yes, you can see the actual episodes they are airing. It's not blacked out. What would be the point then?

Storrs19, I never would have guessed when I was watching all those great 1950's shows on N@N and CBN's Family Channel in the 1980's that in fifteen years, they would have COMPLETELY disappeared from every channel in the entire nation, whether cable or on-air broadcast AND that almost none of them would be available for purchase.

I can remember coming home from middle school in the late 1960's and watching an entire late afternoon of 1950's and 60's greats. (For example, I can remember watching Anne Francis as Honey West with her pet ocelot.) I can remember in 1975, the local NBC affiliate broadcast an entire summer of George and Gracie at 3:30 in the afternoon. I had never even heard of G&G, I assumed Burns and Allen was a show about two men(!). I fell in love with her zany, daffy logic. I watched it every afternoon for the entire three months.)

I remember feeling saddened when my mother told me that Gracie had died back in the 1960's.

In your case, I think that KWCE Alexandria, LA might be your best bet. Can you get that where you live? If not, use the link from MrBand to watch the Buffalo channel. It's got some good stuff on it!

I guess I will have to go back to radio
On XM Channel 164 they air: Jack Benny, Burns & Allen, The Great Gildersleeves, Fibber McGee & Molly, Abbott & Costello, Stan Freeburg, Dragnet, Superman, and a ton of other good programs including Lux Radio Theater.
