Default The Jeffersons - The Complete Sixth Season DVD Review

Get ready to move on up into the deluxe sixth season of The Jeffersons on DVD! The Complete Sixth Season of the series that, in a sense, is synonymous with late 70s and early 80s pop culture, is coming soon to DVD in a 3-disc box set from Sony. In the sixth season, we learn that there is going to be a little bit of a change in the family (and that there will finally be a blood connection between George and Tom!) with the impending birth of Lionel and Jenny’s baby! You also get to see what Tom would be like if he was black, you get to see a flashback to the beginning of Jefferson Cleaners, and you even get to see a former cast member return--Mike Evans in his role of Lionel!

The only disagreement I have is with your statement about it not being a fun season to watch. Season 6 was great and with the return of Mike Evans, the show became better.

I agree with you, season 6 is a very good season. The first 5 are all entertaining as well, but th show picked up sumthin this year- it got better and Mike Evans did add to this year. He's better this year than in year 7 where he doesn't have much presence. Some shows this year get by with just the regular characters a sign that the chemistry was strong.

I think the Show started to FALL OFF after Paul Benedict left in 81

Yes it did. We've been down this road already- after Paul and Mike Evans left the show was missing something- not just because of them but it coincided with George becoming too politically correct. Without his son on the show they had to make George nicer. Also the Willises were on too much in those later seasons (Florence too). When Bentley and Lionel were regulars they could mix up who was in an episode and keep it fresher.
