Question Best & worst dressed females in sitcoms??

Best - Samantha Stephens. Whether she was dressed in jeans and a sweater for a casual day around the house, a stunning evening gown to accompany Darrin to his business parties, or sleepwear, the witch had an awesome wardrobe! (Pardon the pun. ) Liz Montgomery sure had some awesome wardrobe people on Bewitched.

Worst - Helen Roper. That wig and those godawful muumuus - no wonder Stanley wasn't interested!! Why didn't Chrissy or Janet take her out shopping and to get a makeover? Or did I miss that episode??

I love the Ann Marie clothes too, especially early on in the show when they were very mod.

I haven't watched Get Smart in years (no one shows it!) but Barbara Feldon's outfits were always great.

I don't know who's the best-dressed but Helen Roper definitely wins for worst-dressed. My God, those dresses were hideous!

Actually Eva Gabor always looked very chic in Green Acres as well. Despite living in that ramshackle house of theirs! They recently showed a funny ep where Oliver takes Haney to court and Lisa has a smashing Red White and Blue outfit with a scarf on.

That was a wig Audra worn in Three's A Company and she actually doesn't really dress like that. You actually can see that she is a very sophisicated dressed lady in real life. Pitty, she died of leukemia and her really last movie appearance was relic. So much for recognition.... Everybody should have been embarased appearing in that movie.

I know it was only a wig that she wore. I read in a Three's Company book that Audra Lindley was the least-recognized cast member because she was actually blond and wore trendy clothes in real life!! I also saw some pictures of her when she played Aunt Liz on Another World back in the 1960s. I didn't even recognize her!!

I know, but no woman would want to be wearing Mrs. Ropers' those horrid 70s mumuus again. Come to think of it, Mrs. Roper always looked like she wore the same clothing material in the house or outside. The only time she wore something okay was when she didn't wear a mumuu, but only a waiter clothes in one episode where Jack and the two girls were waiters for a fancy party. Also, when she seen her from the shoulder when Mrs. Roper and the two girls went to a nude beach, but only came back because it was raided. That's all I remember her wearing. Just that.

The reason why Edith Bunker wore those dated dresses is because they were capturing the early 70s homemaker/working class look to her character. Scary as it may sound, but people around her age or maybe much older living in Brooklyn or Queens possibly did worn those types of clothing back in the early 70s. They look dated, yes, but it was possibly because she was a plain ordinary wife to the audience and the viewer. Hell, even Wheezy earlier wardrobe was nothing to brag about. Sometimes she wore something dynamite, sometimes she wore like an old lady type dress(see 1st Season), but you have to remember that style of dress was popular 1970-1975.
