Default Couple charged with having sex in front of 9-year-old to teach her about sex... ROFL

You cannot make this stuff up!

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — A Woonsocket mother and her boyfriend are headed to trial on charges they had intercourse in front of the woman's 9-year-old daughter as a way to teach the girl about sex.

Rebecca Arnold, of Woonsocket, and her boyfriend, David Prata, have pleaded not guilty to felony child-neglect charges. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for next month.

When questioned by an investigator from the state Department of Children, Youth and Families, Prata, 33, said he and Arnold, 36, had sex "all the time" in front of the child and that "we don't believe in hiding anything."

He said the girl would often be on the bed watching as the couple had sex. Though they did not ask her to leave, they also did not force her to remain on the bed, Prata said.

Asked why he thought a child that age should know about sexual acts, Prata replied, "We wanted to prepare her so she would know how," according to a report from the investigator, Vanessa E. Cisela.

...Wow. I have no words for this. Except to laugh.

Does this make me a horribly deranged bitch, or something? *cackle*

...Although I will admit that I want to bitchslap the mother and her boyfriend. I wouldn't want to watch my mom having sex with somebody else. That's a private thing.

See, IMO people like this should have thier parental rights taken away.

You have no idea what you are doing. You are idiots.

Also, since the guy involved in this is the "boyfreind" and not the father, it just seems to me like he probably would have turned his attention to the girl eventually.

Again, they are idiots. They should not be allowed to be parents.

That's like one of those "scared straight" programs, only for teaching sex.

It may not necessarily screw the child up. In the Conversations With God books, God remarks that He doesn't see anything wrong with children being made aware of sex.

Some quotes from God's dialogue from the second book:

"In some societies, parents couplein full view of their offspring - and what could give children a greater sense of the beauty and the wonder and the pure joy and the total okayness of the sexual expression of love than this? For parents are constantly modelling the "rightness" and "wrongness" of all behaviours, and children pick up subtle and not-so-subtle signals from their parents about everything through what they see their parents thining, saying and doing."

"So talk about sex with your children, laugh about sex with your children, teach them and allow them and remind them and show them how to celebrate their sexuality."

Now, admittedly, I wouldn't want to watch my parents have sex, and it is very unusual to do it in front of your child. But it may not necessarily screw the child up. If she has become aware of sexuality and comfortable with it from a very early age, then she may develop a very healthy attitude towards sex when she is older, and she may not see it as a shameful act.

Yeah, when did God say this and to whom?

You should teach your children about sex, like you should teach them about a lot of things in the world. You don't demonstrate each act though.

That is just plain stupid, wrong, and pretty much unconscionable.
If anyone has to look up that word, then don't have kids just yet.

The quotes are from the second book in the Conversations With God series. (There are three.) They're by Neale Donald Walsch and the second one was published in 1997.

The three books are transcriptions of conversations that the author says he had with God. Of course, there are some people who think he made it up, or was just imagining, but I believe that God did speak to him and that these are accurate transcriptions of his conversations with God. There is a lot of helpful, comforting stuff in the books, and I find quite a lot of stuff I agree with.

For instance, in one of the books, God talks about life after death. He says there's no such thing as Hell. He says He doesn't judge or punish people, and that when people die, they create their own reality.
