The new split closing/opening is ridiculous. What won't these networks do for more commercial/promo time?

its horrible, and on some shows - like the new sitcom MyBoys, they show two episodes back-to-back with the opening sequence ONLY for the first episode, and then they COMBINE the credits for both episodes at the end of the 2nd ep (while showing it in the split-screen, of course)

I saw it the other day when I was watching Saved by the Bell so they must do it intermittently. What I don't get is that I thought this was done for more commercials but Dawson's Creek started at 8:58 so when do they show these extra commercials so shows start back on the hour?

IMO it's one of the tackiest, ugliest form of graphics on a television station I've ever seen.

Is this where they "push up" the opening sequence of the next show? If so, then they've been doing that for awhile, and TNT does it also.

I saw it for the first time today, and wow I see what you're talking about. So distracting to have two different pictures on the screen.

They aren't using it on Home Improvement. That is one of the only exceptions along with movies and yes, they had been using a variation on primetime/late night shows like Friends, Seinfield, Family Guy, My Boys and "10 Items" for sometime, but only just started doing it during other programming the first week of January.

It's like what Liftime is doing now, too. I hate it.

Just saw it during a movie on Saturday Morning - it's crazy - they're showing the beginning of a movie while the credits for the last movie are still running!
