Four Corners lost Gold
I'm looking for a taped copy of program 191 from the 4th season. It has a section about some buried gold near four corners, NM. Also near Shiprock.
let me know if you have it. Thanks Allen |

There are SO MANY good Lost Treasure stories on Unsolved Mysteries. In the last 4 or five years of the UM, there were little to no stories on lost treasures!
What is this one that you are looking for? By that, I mean, details. Here are the ones I remember: Skeleton Rock Caynon The fortune left behind by that gangster in 1930s ("Bring me in here when he says something". Too bad he never did wake up) The paintings depicting the last days of Jesus: Stolen in the 1960s I believe? That strange zig zag tunnell where there used to be a waterfall in the 1880s. Nearby, treasure. I remember watching this in early 1991. How about the episode where that person was in the mountain, and he noticed a tunnell at the top. Going down, he saw treasure. Tons of it. Gold Bars. Later he tried to use dynamite to widen the opening. Instead, he had locked himself out of the vault for good. Later he got into an argument with his friend, ran to the car to get a weapon, and got mowed down before he got there. His girlfriend, Babe died in 1981, apparently knew the location of the treasure. Later, it was (at least some of it) removed from the cave by the US army, from the side. Oh, so there were two openings! I'm not sure if it is the same episode as mentioned far above (no pun intended, but then again, we all are standing on treasure of some kind) but there was the episode where half of the land was owned by the natives. Part of the deal was that no man could cross the other side without being shot. When one of (don't know his name)'s man found a gold nugget the size of a throwing rock, on the wrong side of course, the men get greedy, an soon, dead. |
