I sent 88 DVDs worth of Mystery Science Theatre 3000 in return for what I was hoping were going to be 63 DVDs of Night Flight and an assortment of other stuff. No such luck.
I posted them off on the understanding that my DVDs were already on their way- when they arrived in the USA he told me he would send mine out "soon". Then they were apparently posted but nothing has ever arrived- I left it another month before asking for a replacement set. I got no reply, so tried again. He then asked me for a list of what I'd originally asked for in a trade so he could send a replacement set. This I supplied, and I waited around another month (about a fortnight ago) before asking for them again. I had no reply to that email, and no communication from him since. It cost me a bloody fortune in blank discs and postage, as well as the time taken copying them all, and I'm really disappointed. I know, I know, I should have done a smaller trade first, but he seemed super-reputable and had a massive site with all sorts of rareness on it. So all I'm saying is avoid this trader- I don't think he uses here a lot anyway, but just to make sure. |

Don't know if you're the one who posted this originally, but here is another bad trader alert about him:

I would like to say that I had a good trade with him. This is the info that I was using when I traded with him. Hope he gets things straightened out. He has some great rarities.

Hi all
I'm so sorry about any misunderstandings please drop me an email if I owe you something... the guy in Europe that got the NIGHT FLIGHT and GET A LIFE, I honestly did send them, I'm sorry that something seemed to happen, I was waiting to see if they came back to me or showed up there, the shipping was like $45 or something and it was alot of time and effort to burn 80-90 discs, doing it twice really sucks but I will do it rather than him get screwed over.. sorry about not being around, I've been going through some personal problems and have had a rough time dealing I wasn't trying to avoid anyone .... my apologies.... I know it's not a good excuse and I'm not giving details of my personal issues, but rest assured I will get all of this sorted out, and as most of you know, I am usually a fast and reliable trader... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE drop me a line If you need my email address please go to my site... it's there MONDO ALMIGHTY http://www.almightytattoo.com/VIDEOMAINPAGE.html have a good one all my apologies.... First of all i
m glad you replied communications is KEY it really is. If you can retrace your steps- maybe look for the reciept It always always sucks having to redo a package, but its GREAT that your willing to. Contact the user and see what can be worked out and please please let me tell you this- the post office NOW has GLOBAL flat rate. I just sent 45 discs to London for 11.90 You can save a lot of money with flat rate and it isn't very popular yet so if you DO have to redo them, keep that in mind defiantely to break up the cost. And if the loss was legit, which sounds like it was- maybe the other trader would be willing to split the shipping etc- Keep in contact, and try to resolve things- I can give you the name of several sites that have media on sale now- as well to help with the cost. Anything we can do, to help let us know- but your willingness to work it out is the first and best step!

This is my offer
Mondo you live in the US I believe? So do I- tell you what if you want to concetrate on the discs, and put the time/energy into redoing the order- Send it to me, delivery conf- first class. Or flat rate priority is 4.05. and I'll foot the bill and send it flat rate global to the UK- That way, your protected it was sent you'll have proof- since its US to US The chance of it getting lost from NY to IN is slim- And then when I sent it, I'll send it global, which is less transit time. And mortimer will have confirmation it was sent, and it was accurate. SO yeah, you still have to redo it, and the media/time sucks- But if your willing to do that, I'll stand behind you and foot the bill for shipping to help you out. Thats my offer to both of you. |

I am the trader that posted the caution message about MondoAlmighty that was quoted in Google Groups in the first post of this thread. Please note that I said 'We had one good round of about sixty disks' because we did. On our first round we sent at the same time and we both came through and it was fantastic. I just knew in my gut that Ryan was a good egg, still, I posted that caution since he had dropped from sight. Ryan has been back in touch with me in the past couple days. He has had some outside issues plus his Hotmail filter was tossing my mails in his trash folder. He's promised to square things up and I believe him. I'm going to resume trading with him and I hope other folks will not judge him too harshly based on my mild cautionary post. The Night Flight that he has to share is absolutely fantastic. I got all sixty-plus disks from him. Excellent quality. Ryan does true digital backups, not any of this degrading deck-to-deck crap. He doesn't hoard the rare stuff or demand heavier trades or money (ugh!) for it. A disk is a disk is a thirty cent slice of plastic and nothing more. I believe that his heart is in the right place and that his name will be completely cleared in the very near future. savageamusement, your offer to be the peacemaker between these two traders is the coolest thing I've ever seen a moderator do. It makes me feel a whole lot better about this forum as a whole. Hang in, Ryan. . |

In a tremendous turnabout time, Mondo has secured not only the tracking number of the replacment package to me, but also insisted on repaying the hsipping
Its tragic when a package this size gets lost- and it can be finacially burdoning as well as time consuming. My hats off to Mondo for accepting this disapointment, making a large scale trade right so quickly- and for not just walking away as some traders would have done, and have done. I updated Mortimer as well, and I am sure he will be just as happy, if not more. Thanks Mondo, very upstanding trade behaviour |

A big thanx to everyone involved (FUNNYBOOK, KIM, ETC)
FAMOUS MORTIMER, enjoy your discs, I really can see why you were upset, my apologies for the wait, after the package didn't arrive, I must admit I strung things along hoping that the package would show up either being returned to me or arriving to you, It was very expensive to send and time consuming to put together, I hope you know now that it wasn't a con or a game on my end ...... again my apologies..... I can only wonder where the 1st package ended up .... I guess we'll probably never know... FM, if you ever want to try this again, I could always use more MS3K... Well I don't know where the first package went
but true to this word mondo remade the entire package and all 70 pounds of it are sitting on my desk. I have contacted Moritmer and items will be shipped on ASAP Thanks for such a great turnabout with this- its terrible such a large package got lost...truly I am sorry for the extra word/effort and cost this caused as well as the length of time moritmer had to wait, but to me, with the patience of both, communication and willingness to redo it, it was resolvable- but only through both members being willing and able. Thanks Mondo, for being such an upstanding member- And Mortimer for your patience during this. |

Thanks for replying to savageamusement, Mondo, when the discs arrive I'll be sure to change this topic to resolved. Might be worth replying to people who are trying to find out where their 80 discs got to in future though, eh?

The original package came back to him, about 4 days after remaking it and sending it on to me- SO in the very least he has another set, premade for a future trade-
Which, still a shame it was lost - but at least he got the set back for a future investment. The remake, went out to you..oh, like a week, maybe more ago- so that should be there any day- I'll never understand shipping. I sent 3 packages last week, one to canada, one to scotland, one to Nevada. Nevada, still waiting on- but it made itself to scotland in 6 days. |

Hey FM at this point the matter IS resolved, I sent the package through the board moderator, so if you trust Savageamusement then you know it's on it's way... I had NO IDEA where your discs were and I did tell you that they were sent 2-3 times, when I did finally recieve the package back it said reason for not being delivered was that the package was "UNCLAIMED" so maybe you should have a talk with your local post office and check your mail a little closer, eh?.. I dont mean to come off angry at you or anything but FAMOUS MORTIMER you really need to understand the time and money that this trade cost me about $60 worth of shipping and about $80 worth of discs, and HOURS of burning time... so forgive me if I get a bit defensive of your advice/critique... I sent your package quickly, and the problem was beyond my control, to be perfectly honest, I'll NEVER do that big of a trade again with someone overseas, and if I do it will have to be for something I really want I really am glad that this is resolved, and this really is nothing personal, but after being bitched about, and dragged through the mud I think I deserve to put my 2 cents in as well.. have a good one all thanx to everyone that stood up and defended me... Ryan ps. to SAVAGEAMUSEMENT, I'm sending your package out today and enclosing the returned/"unclaimed" box from the UK for a souvenier, thanx again for all your help, you were more than cool through all of this.. |
