Default RoboCop Actress Nancy Allen Dies

Actress Nancy Allen who played Officer Anne Lewis in the Robocop movies passed away on Oct. 12th 2006 from a cerebral hemorrhage at the age of 56.

Born on June 24th of 1950, Nancy was the daughter of a Sergeant from Yonkers, New York. At a young age she trained for a dancing career at the High School of Performing Arts, and then attended Jose Quintano's School for Young Professionals. In dozens of TV commercials from the age of 15, Nancy made her first film appearance in 1962, at the age of 12 in a movie named _Money In My Pocket (1962)_ . Later, she appeared in 1973 in the movie The Last Detail (1973) with Jack Nicholson. Three years later, she set the standard for all future "bitch-goddess teenagers" as Chris Hargensen in Stephen King´s Carrie (1976), taken to the big screen by director Brian De Palma. Nancy Allen then married De Palma. She next appeared in Steven Spielberg's I Wanna Hold Your Hand (1978); for the next few years, she appeared only in De Palma's films: _Home Movies (1979)_ , Dressed to Kill (1980), and she starred with John Travolta in Blow Out (1981).

Unhappy Rest In Peace Nancy Allen

Wow, what a shocker! I really liked her. She was in some really good movies. So young, what a shame.

I didn't realize she was that old. But still, what a shocker. I didn't even know she was married to De Palma. She was good playing a bitch.

Hello, I just stumbled upon this site after seeing this death posted on the IMDB, and everyone knows they're not always accurate.

How did you find this out? Link please?

Very sad news... I was thinking about Nancy not that long ago, while watching Carrie, as I had not seen her acting in anything for a long while. She was in a number of memorable films... she will be missed...

I saw it on both IMDb & Wikipedia. I know that IMDb isn't very reliable and that a lot of the info is supplied by their members. Wikipedia is a site that I don't visit often and I wasn't aware that they get most of their info in the same manner.

I checked the IMDb message boards and some are saying that Nancy's death is a rumour. I hope it is and it wasn't my intent to post false information. I realize now that I should have put a disclaimer that it was an IMDb rumour in my post but it never occurred to me to do that.

I haven't seen anything else to back this up & I've checked several sites including CNN, Yahoo, Variety, Etc...So evidently it is nothing more than a rumour. I apologize for starting this topic without solid proof and I'll be more careful in the future.

I looked for this story, and I can't find it either. I hope it's a rumor.

I hope that this is nothing more than a rumor. I love Nancy Allen. Carrie, Dressed To Kill and Blow Out are three of my favorite movies. She was fantastic in all three.

False.

From Wikipedia:

Quote:
Nancy Allen was briefly announced as dead on the website IMDb on October 15th, 2006, the cause of death being cerebral hemorrhage. She denied the info herself via the website's message board.

Wikipedia's wrong again. I never believe anything unless it's reported by a news organization.

Thank God she's alive though.
