Post Who is an Ebay fanatic and name the most expensive item that you bought

I am an ebay fanatic. I won an auction a few months ago over an autographed Dale Midkiff picture and it was $61.00. lol- Everybody thought I was so crazy to spend that much, but I'm happy with it.

Hottest Men alive:
Dale Midkiff
Anthony Starke
Tim McGraw
Jonathan Crombie

Lumpy: Did you go out for anything, Dud?

Dudley: Well, I went out for football, but I got my finger stepped on, so my mother made me quit.

Eddie: Well listen-- I went out for basketball and I got my hair pulled, and my mother made ME quit.

Dudley: It's not that I was afraid of getting hurt or anything; it's just that-- well, it's kind o' hard to play the flute with a busted finger.

[Eddie and Lumpy suppress laughter]

I am *addicted* to Ebay!!!!!!!!!!

The most expensive thing I ever got was prolly an autographed pic of Neve Campbell & Jeremy London for about $25. That's the first thing that comes to mind, I'm not sure if it's really the most expensive or not.

I buy on ebay all the time! Mostly movies.I just purchased the miniseries "Roots" and got a real deal I think, seeing as the set goes for about 80.00 new or used. I got the 6 volume set for 30.00. I was very happy about that!

off topic, but isn't there an 800 page book called "Roots" also? Is that the movie made into a book or is it totally different?

I once bought a really long poster that had about 20 NASCAR drivers and all but 3 of their signatures on in for $80. I love that poster!!!

That and I bought a copy of the movie Nashville Beat for $45. That much for a VHS is a tad ridiculous, but that thing is SO hard to find.

Yes, the book was written by Alex Haley and made into a miniseries. It is about his family history going back to the 1700's until the present day. His great great(I don't know how many greats!) grandfather was a slave named Kunta Kinte. Perhaps this is starting to sound familiar? Watch it sometime! It's very good!

Actually Roots is about 10 hours. I like to break it up over a few days. like 2 hours a day. But my absolute favorite miniseries is "Centennial" which is 26 hours long! I can get about 2 weeks worth out of that one!

Oh I can go forever about E-bay. I love E-bay but when it comes to security and being taken, they suck. Otherwise I love it. The most I paid was $78.00 for 2 Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman tapes. They were in excellent condition and I made copies just so that I don't put more wear and tear on them. I am a fanatic collector and I wanted to see the show because Norman Lear wrote it. And all of his shows are in good terms with me, so I bought them. By the way, the security thing I mentioned earlier was when David Phillips of Arizona sold me what he said was a "Married With Children" script. We paid, he never delivered. When I checked his feedback forum, there were warnings about him. This of course was before I even knew about the feedback forum. Anyway, he claimed that he never got the money, I had a tracer on it and it turns out that he did lie. E-bay kicked him off, and his information was bogus. He said he was from Barbados when he told me he lived in Arizona. The final point I am trying to say is that I know he is back on E-bay under a different screen name. It's so easy to do. I never got anything and my little brother, who gave me the money to get the script was out 40 dollars. That's 30 plus ten to have them track the money order down. Weird huh? Other than that, I like E-bay.

Yeah, that's why I'm paranoid about buying stuff on eBay. I always check the feedback ratings first, but I'm still paranoid about going much over $30. I would love to buy the X-Files DVD sets off there (even though I don't even have a DVD player yet!, lol)....but by the time I play shipping I figure I'll only save about 10 bucks, and I'd rather get it from an actual store for the peace of mind.

Most expensive thing I ever bought was about $25, it was an unfilmed script from Star Trek Voyager signed by the authors. But I feel pretty jipped (sp? hey it's late..) because I thought it was actually going to be a script that the producers really truely did intend to film but never did. Turns out some nobody fan wrote it, and I don't think it was ever intended to be filmed. Truth is, I haven't even read it yet and I've had it for like 6 months or more. Who knows maybe it'll be cool, but I kind of have my doubts... (*sigh* ..impulse purchases.. )
