http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23365246-details/President+Bush+assassinated+in+new+TV+docudrama/article.do
President Bush 'assassinated' in new TV docudrama Bush is shot by a sniper in a scene from Death of a President. This is the dramatic moment when President George Bush is gunned down by a sniper after a public address at a hotel, in a gripping new docudrama soon to be aired on TV. Set around October 2007, President Bush is assassinated as he leaves the Sheraton Hotel in Chicago. Death of a President, shot in the style of a retrospective documentary, looks at the effect the assassination of Bush has on America in light of its 'War on Terror'. The 90 minutes feature explores who could have planned the murder, with a Syrian-born man wrongly put in the frame. Peter Dale, head of More4, which is due to air the film on October 9, said the drama was a "thought-provoking critique" of contemporary US society. He said: "It's an extraordinarily gripping and powerful piece of work, a drama constructed like a documentary that looks back at the assassination of George Bush as the starting point for a very gripping detective story. "It's a pointed political examination of what the War on Terror did to the American body politic. "I'm sure that there will be people who will be upset by it but when you watch it you realise what a sophisticated piece of work it is. "It's not sensationalist, or simplistic but a very thought-provoking, powerful drama. I hope people will see that the intention behind it is good." The film will premier at the Toronto Film Festival in September and was written and directed by Gabriel Range.

if you are going to have that happen why not have a fictional character. I don't think that is right at all. it would be one thing if it happened and they were showing how it was done, but it didn't happen.

This is absurd. I agree... they should either use fictional names OR wait til he's out of office to show it.

You suppose any of those involved are Republicans?
I think not, so all their posturing about the nature of this film is crap. Liberal tripe posing as art- or more accurately, using the medium of film as an excuse to character assassinate where they would openly welcome an actual assassination. |

Exactly what I was thinking. There are enough people who hate President Bush who would probably try something like that.

In a way, I think that it is possible that this "docu-drama" is a way of putting the thought of a dead president Bush in people's minds, and inspiring people to do so. This concept is extremely odd and extremely diabolical. If someone made a movie about assaisnating Clinton, they would be thrown in prison on the charge of conspiring to assasinate the president.

"British director Gabriel Range made no apologies for his movie, which he called "serious and sensitive."
"There is no way it would encourage anyone to assassinate Bush and usher in [Vice President Dick] Cheney's America," he told reporters." Yeah, no agenda there... ![]()

I watched a segment on a news show yesterday. This women said that after the attempted Reagan assassination, there was a 20% increase in death threats against the President.
I wonder if this is legal in the U.S. I think it's disgusting. |
