Default A "racy" twist for Survivor

Get ready for a segregated "Survivor." Race will matter on the upcoming season of the CBS show as contestants will be divided into four tribes by ethnicity. That means blacks, whites, Latinos and Asians in separate groups.

The announcement was made on CBS' Early Show. Host Jeff Probst says the idea "actually came from the criticism that 'Survivor' was not ethnically diverse enough." He says the twist fits in perfectly with what "Survivor" does, saying the show is "a social experiment. And this is adding another layer to that experiment." Probst says contestants had mixed reactions to the racial divisions.

This time the new Survivors are stranded on the Cook Islands in the South Pacific. The castaways include a police officer, a heavy metal guitarist, an attorney and a nail salon manager. The new season of Survivor debuts September 14th.

That's an interesting idea...I mean, if they want to prove they're racial diverse, I'm not sure why they couldn't just increase the ethnicities without segregated them....

I bet it won't last long. Last season they split the tribe into age/sex groups: older men/younger men/older women/younger women, and it was kind of really interesting, but it lasted for about one episode.

I see the interest dying out fast on this idea too.

Default WHAT WOULD THEY DO....

well since many eps, if not most of them are allready filmed
i guess the racial thing will be more than 1 ep

BUT
i wonder what they would do if one race came off looking real bad

?????

like what if the first 4 people to get the boot are ALL BLACK????
or ALL HISPANIC??????

what then????

i mean, MOST LIKELY it will be one of this race gone, one of that race gone.....
but what if one race loses all the time?????
then they have a real problem, because fans are NOT gonna take that without getting upset!!!
