its quite a kick to go from shared cable internet, to a real 5 and 5 hookup

the cable effective speed was no better than 400 many times

since the connections are shared

and the best part is charter was at $54 a month

and now im at $30 a month

a real tough decision

its actualy through the utility company here in a 9000 population town

they also offer a digital cable throught he fibre line, but no recorders so far

and a $30 a month telephone service with free long distance , also through the fiber line

for a small town, we do have some options

4 local phone companies, two regular phone hookups, the cable company, and now the fibre

cable, phone dsl and now fibre inet, and believe it or not, a wireless net in the downtown area, $20 a month,

and now two cable companies, one normal and one fibre

this is quite unusal for being about 45 miles from a decent sized city

if a person would do that stuff, this is the blow torch to do it with

i tried some photos sent via email, and they went zip right through

the same ones took like a minute before, and now its like 2 seconds

what makes no sense is the 700 k up and down is only $8 less a month than the 5 meg up and down

$22 vs the $30 for the 5 meg

Hi Loren. My name is Dave. You want to cancel? I used to work for AOL, but I was fired. I won't get into that here, but, we want you to be happy with Charter. What can we do to make you happy?...Never mind. Let me cut to the chase! Here's the bottom line. You can not cancel. If you do, we send out Bruno to make you sign back up. You see where I'm coming from?

thats about the story

when fiber was being laid in my area, charter came to the door like 5 times trying to get 1 year contracts signed

to lock up folks before the fiber was avaible

the first couple times i was nice and told them i had charter hd cable and it was poor, and im not interested

then i cussed out out the next two and it wasnt nice, i told them to leave me the f___- alone

then then last time i called the police, and the officer told the dude that he couldnt coem back here , they had several complaints about them badgering the people

according to the local office, im the only person in the area who had net and no cable tv, at first they wouldnt let me do it, so i had to cry about that as well-- i told the manager i didnt watch tv, its against my religon
