I don't have any real photos of the house, but here are some screen captures.

Cap 1: From episode 263, "Leaving the Nest"

Cap 2: From episode 266, "Green-Eyed Robbie"

Cap 3: From episode 300, "The O'Casey Scandal"

THANKS!

The pictures are great. I'm planning to build in an established neighborhood and I think a house looking like this would blend perfectly.

A very rough sketch by me wasn't helping the architect and these will definitely help. Now, the fit the floorplan to the front...

Thanks again for your help!

Default California House

I love the My Three Sons California house. I was wondering if you had floor plans drawn up and what they looked like. I am curious.

I think the floorplan is in the book that has been out for several years, that has the floorplans of several homes from situation comedies. I will reference my copy.

if you have any DVDs of THE PARTRIDGE FAMILY (is that even on DVD?) you can also see the house on there, because they used the same one.

"The Partridge Family" (seasons 1 & 2) are indeed available on DVD from Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Your info on the M3S California House is incorrect however.

The Douglas home was a feature for many years on the backlot of the CBS Studio Center in California. Originally a barn built in the 1940s on the then Republic Studios site, the barn had a gambrel roof and facade added to it in the 1950s and can be clearly seen in old shows of the era like "Perry Mason".
For years after "My Three Sons" ended it was used as a storage facility for lighting equipment at the studio but was torn down in 1992 to make way for a new modern car park at the studio.

By coincidence, the original Douglas (Bryant Park) home is still located in Los Angeles at 837 Fifth Avenue, near Wilshire Boulevard.

"The Partridge Family" facade was part of the small group of well known TV houses (including "Gidget", "Bewitched", "I Dream of Jeannie", "Father Knows Best", etc) on what was known as "Blondie Street" (after the "Blondie and Dagwood" movies of the 1940s) at the old Columbia Studios Ranch in Burbank, which is now controlled by Warner Bros. The houses on the horse-shoe bend street still exist in one shape or another. None of course are real, they are merely hollow shells and also used for storage. The huge park opposite most of those houses also features a fountain which is seen prominently in the opening to the series "Friends". Unfortunately, the Warner Bros. ranch is not open to the public for inspection.

One thing I've never understood about the Calif. house: when you look at the house on the outside shot, there is a window to the left of the front door. If you think about the layout from the inside, that would be on the other side of the front door, opposite the living room--on the other side of the stairs. What would this room possibly be, and how would it be accessed?

Default Bryant park House

Found the Bryant Park House on Google maps using the address you gave!!! That is great!!! Do you know anything more about that house, like when it was built, why they chose that house?

I have recently watched some of the California episodes and have also wondered about that mystery room. There is no door inside off the front door and then there is the stair case. Views of the living room also show no inside door or passage-way that could access a room to the left of the front door.
